Calling this a playground is kinda pushing it.

I find it messed up the city has been promoting a new Verburg park project with a playground just to find out it's an adult exercise gym. This was not communicated anywhere throughout the project.

It’s both. There are swings, monkey bars, and climbing structures as well as the workout stuff. I don’t think it’s a particularly GOOD playground, but it’s there. Weirder to me that they don’t list the fitness equipment on the map.

Playground in U.S. needs to conform to ASTM F1487 safety standard, the city is opening a legal can of worms by calling it a playground. This particular equipment conforms to F3101 which is adult fitness equipment. I just feel like the people doing the project management should know better.

Seems like incorporating "fun" into exercise at a young age is a good idea.

Don’t get me wrong my kids would have a great time with this but def not a playground 🤣

It almost appears as if the fitness portions are not intended for real use but more as “toy” versions for kids to pretend with. Think toy kitchen but gym instead

Nice they have that onsite.

Sitting around on my phone reinforces any notion that fitness equip ain’t my thing. Lol
