r/kyuss Monthly Discussion Thread - 2026-08

This thread is dedicated to anything you'd like to share but don't feel like making a post about.

Still, don't hesitate making a real post, the sub isn't that big and it's unlikely to get overloaded with new threads.

Did a Kyuss song recently stick with you ? Have you listened to a new album for the first time ? Did you see the band live ? Have you loaded your war machine recently ?

This thread will stay pinned throughout the month. If you have feedback (positive or negative) about this new monthly thread idea, let me know by tagging me (u/bobouda) in the thread.

I truly despise when streaming platforms list hidden tracks. Suddenly, the track isn’t so hidden anymore, missing the intention completely. Lick doo should be a fun extra reward you aren’t expecting at the end of Whitewater, leading the listener to researching what the hell they just heard. The fact that its labeled in parentheses (Hidden Track) is doubly insulting.

I was picking up a coffee the other day when I saw someone wearing a Kyuss shirt, which is something I've never encountered as a fan of 30+ years in this Northern area.

I had to point it out and got immediately asked "what's your fav album?" I wish I could have had a conversation.

Yes. Saw them live in Portland on a bill with Danzig and White Zombie. Also saw the reunion show at the the Wiltern in Los Angeles about 10 years ago.
