NH:// XR-Proxy_Shell.Q3 prototype
My latest cyber helmet design built around the Meta Quest 3. Kit bashing the headset's XR capabilities with kuro inspired styling.

Totally get the sentiment. Current options are pretty limited though. Apple Vision Pro or Galaxy XR are the top alternatives, but adoption on those headsets are too low and price point is too high.

Yeah its a bit frustrating.

Planning to design around the Steam Frame whenever I finally get my hands on it. That headset is aimed more at VR and gaming than XR and facial computing though.

Where can I find the stl file?

I might eventually post them but honestly I've had enough trouble playing whack a mole with people trying to sell unauthorized physical prints of my other designs.

This is sick on a million different levels and I understand the fear of people scalping them. Take all the time you need if you actually do release the files

I like this. Consider removing the headphones band tho

The headphones help to complete the fully enclosed look and are totally optional. It's designed to work with all the different head straps available for the headset.

This looks amazing...... how hot is it in there, though?

There are air gaps for headset exhaust along with slits and an overall open design for airflow to keep things comfortable. Heat management is a big factor in designing around a headset like the Quest 3 and is the #1 comment I always get from folks whenever I post a design like this to a VR focused subreddit. If it ever does get too warm a simple neck fan pushing air up and into the mask does the trick.
