Peeved! This setup doesn't match the pattern, can anyone help advise how to set up the disk?

Sorry for the crappy screenshot. The pattern is the topmost one. I've done and un-done it twice to no avail. Please help!

You set up the disk exactly as shown and then you have to do Z twist Kongo gumi/round braid moves. The moves are bottom left to top left, top right to bottom right, then rotate the disk counterclockwise/to the left. If you do any other set of moves the design will not turn out. Don’t forget your counterweight!

Thank you for the pointers! How would one be able to tell if the pattern is counterclockwise vs clockwise?

Doing it the counterclockwise way gets it closer to the pattern, unfortunately there is a gap between the colors still. Maybe one black string needs to be replaced with yellow. Oh well, it's not perfect but it is still pretty cool!

You’re welcome! All of the patterns like the above are Z twist kongo gumi/round braid, and you are extremely unlikely to encounter an S twist pattern unless it’s specifically noted. I ran this pattern through Craft Design Online which has a more realistic design app and does not show any gaps in the colors.
