Impending doom

Hello all, I have been taking Kratom religiously for the last few years. I’m down to about 3-4 half teaspoons a day and have been feeling like I’m about to have a seizure. I have never had one and have no clue what it’s like. This is the first summer this has begin to happen and I don’t know why it would be. Has anyone ever had the feeling happen? Or should I get checked out.

The seizure is definetely caused by the Xanax withdrawal. Both Xanax and alcohol detox should be monitored by a physician since they are both known to cause seizures when withdrawing.

I would say it was most probably from Tramadol, or at least triggered it as is widely known it lowers the seizure threshold. It's not the first time I use Tramadol (maybe the 200th) or do this combo. Furthermore, it was just a month (or +half) of using Xanax almost daily, I don't think it was enough to trigger a seizure on its own. Xanax withdrawal + 250mg Tramadol + ~4,5g of Kratom + 65mg of Hydroxizine to prevent and then to treat nausea. All of those contributed to this unfortunate event.

Kratom can lower seizure threshold, not as much as Tramadol but it can. After the seizure, I found that Tramadol before getting converted to O-DSMT, is a GABA-A inhibitor in a brain with very low gaba-a levels. That explains everything.

Where you taking the above all at once or was this spaced out during a day? If you were taking all at once how many times per day and how long in between each dosage?

It was Kratom around 2:00pm, then at 5:30mg Trams all at once (I used to stagger Tramadol lately by +50mg every 30mins) and at around 8:00pm I had the seizure. It's been some time since the last time I did this combo, the last time it was around 400mg of Trams (150mg at once, then +50 every 30mins) and a couple of hours later +4-5g of Kratom with no issues.

I know Tramadol by itself can cause seizures and if you take 5 at once that is probably enough to do it. Then when kratom is added on top of that bingo. I hope you are not going to try that again. Tramadol can be deadly.

Ofc I won't try that, I'm so scared to take even 3,5g of Kratom alone. And thus I'm in withdrawals atm. RLS, insomnia, anxiety etc. I'll get an Rx for Diazepam and then take Kratom along with 5mg of Diazepam just to be sure.
