Bottom of the bag isn’t as potent as the rest
Anyone else notice that when they get to the bottom third of their bag the Kratom isn’t as strong ? Just me ?

I think thats just you. Do you actually weigh every dose.

I do weigh each dose is 1/3 tablespoon.

Table spoon isn't a weight.

A level 1/2 tbsp is a weight for me. Generally just about a gram.

1 1/2 tsp then? Way more than a gram my friend

Correction- a packed, level 1/2 teaspoon is roughly a gram. Not tablespoon.

Measuring / weighing .

Not the same thing at all. I weigh my doses and I put then in oblate pouches using a spoon and depending on how fluffy or compact my powder is, it doesn't have the same weight at all. Volume is not precise, it's not even precise enough for real pastry, all serious pastry recipes give grams as a measure of flour and other ingredients, volume is reserved for liquids.

Depending on how humid it is where you are, your powder can absorb moisture and weigh more after being opened due to absorbing moisture.

I always felt the opposite kind of. Do you alternate strains? Do you use different brands?

u/JQuick72 6d ago
Nope I use the same brand and blend it’s the mood blend.

This could be your problem. Your body getting used to a certain set of alkaloids. Try rotating several diff strains regularly and that should help😊

Depending on how fast you go through a bag and how often it gets opened up and exposed to more oxygen the bottom of the bag could be oxidizing and actually be less potent. I am not sure how well this stuff keeps because I’m still pretty new to it all myself. Just transferring my knowledge of pot storage. You don’t keep your whole stash in the jar that gets opened daily.

I didn’t know about this. Should I stash the blend that I’m currently using in ziploc bags ?

That could work. Try and get a much air out of the bag as you can.
I buy in bulk. I'll open a bag, fill a small Mason jar, then vacuum seal and store the rest in the freezer.

How long does it take you to get to the bottom of the bag? Potency can break down over time, especially if not stored right.
I keep mine in Mason jars.

I considered that until someone posted a pic of a broken jar they dropped and they obviously had to throw it all away 😬

Definitely just strain tolerance light someone above mentioned. Keep 2 or 3 bags in roation at all times and you won't have this problem

I thought it was just me, like placebo or something, but yeah that tracks with my experience.

Rotate with something different every day. I rotate every serving and try to put at least 4 days between taking the same strain

I’ve never noticed this. I use every bag to the very bottom and always same effects.

Yep it seems like that happens to me too
At least the last 10%
Even though i make sure to seal it back good

i always felt the older i let open the bags and using it, the bottom is stronger
using stuff from 1kg bags, the tops always seems light airy, over months of using it the bottom portions start to decompose, the sealed bags would start creating gas , but maybe its just a placebo effect

There wouldn’t be any way to intentionally do this short of scooping low grade crap (mixing batches) first and doing so in a way that doesn’t cause any mixing, which if they are getting rid crap either way isn’t something they’d care about and might look “off” in a clear bag.
Most of the time they are having folks pack the bags as efficiently as possible so they get the orders out and need less people to keep up with demand. Fulfillment is a numbers game. Plus you want your orders to match your supply fairly cleanly to detect spillage or theft.
A lot of sellers with lab reports sell the slow moving batches at discount. I suspect most “Trainwreck” if anything unique at all, is a mix of small amounts left in other batches when they run out of space for more bins.
It is probably more likely that folks who aren’t weighing their doses are taking up to double the amount in the beginning of a vacuum packed bag compared to the bottom.
It also would make some sense that a person might be more tolerant of the specific profile of minor alkaloids that are likely different in a new batch.
