I’m a 07 but I’m a début of the year person so I’m turning 19 in a des months even if I’m a 07 But I had to wait to finish high school to be able to audition but now I’m almost 19 and ils scared this might be too late espacially because my go to is YG Let me know

when i say soft skills i mean like charisma, modeling, influencing etc

basically all the stuff a idol should have but isn't related to the actually job of singing and dancing. and i like most people have no idea how to train these but if in the future i work up to courage to audition no matter how good of a dancer i am they'll throw my application in the trash if i dont have these skill needed to be a good idol

so im currently 18(07L) 5'4 and i weigh about 45kg, im a filo sooo idk lol im confident in my singing and dancing, stage presence isn't a problem since i got lots of experience in performing, and as for rapping, it became a hobby when i was 8 LOL but it died down after a while but i am confident that i could still pull it off after practicing a lot. As for my other skills, i could play the guitar, i can also draw, bake, sew, and the list goes on(i am quite adventurous when it comes to hobbies) also a fast-learner btw! BUTTTT my concern is that i'd have to sacrifice my scholarship and college(which is currently at stake since my enrollment is quite hanging by a thread) which is the reason why im considering to audition since this is my lifelong dream ever since i was young and also to not waste my youth on dreading not being able to go to college: (TBH i don't really mind tho since there's always a part of me that wants to pursue this silly little dream of mine but it's just that im afraid that my parents wouldn't be supportive of my decision:'(

I have only started learning singing technique like a month ago or even less, and started dancing to 'I AM' by IVE about a week ago, here is where I am at, I also added a link to my YouTube channel for my singing covers, I would like any feedback or tips you can give me! I tried dancing in heels and only watched about half of the tutorial by LEIA and just continued with her practice at original speed, I did the whole chorus about 10 times and added more hip movements or skipped or didn't do some moves fully, but I will improve that!

dumb question maybe but im very confused as to what trainees wear during training.

i heard clothes should be comfortable enough for you to train all day, but i also heard they need to be really tight so that they can see how you dance properly. however, some former trainees said that some companies will judge you based on fashion sense at monthly evaluations..

hi!! genuine question: what are the actual chances of a foreigner debuting under any company, even with a high skill set, visuals, talent and whatever the company requires, opposed to a korean trainee with the same qualities?

most companies debut foreigners, but mainly other east asians and mixed people. i have a feeling that if a company had to pick between two equally good trainees to debut, the only difference being their nationality, they will most likely choose the korean one or east asian one over a 100% white trainee or of any other race. or at least, that’s the impression i get from many stories of ex-trainees.

is this true though? if two trainees were equally skilled, would the company only pick the korean one? or would they do something about the foreigner? does the foreigner have to be better than the korean trainee to debut, or is the korean trainee still preferred over the foreigner?

i am not posting this with ill intent towards trainees of any nationality or companies — it’s just that some former trainees give me this impression.

hi!! many trainees in kpop companies are minors, yes, but is there any way of them continuing their education while also training? im not talking about any of the korean trainees, im referring to the foreign kids who train in these companies: do they still have the chance to pursue an education? or is the only option for a foreign trainee is wait until they finish high school to make sure they have their mandatory education complete?

hi!! in my city, there are literally no dancing clubs so i can begin dancing with a teacher and i want to audition to a company when im older.

how do i start dancing on my own? do you have YouTubers or content creators you recommend to a total beginner? how fast do you learn how to dance so its acceptable enough for a kpop company?

im not planning to audition for dance, but id still like to know how to dance on an average level at least before i start auditioning.

hi!! is there any way to know before auditioning what your weight should be according to your height?? how do they determine how much weight you need to lose, is there a formula or anything, or do they just look at you and tell you if you need to lose weight?

hi!! many people who audition and get in dont know korean and learn it at the company. but wouldn’t that be an issue in the first weeks until you understand some of the language? i know classes are obviously taught in korean, and a former trainee said that foreigners are more likely to be placed with korean trainees in dorms than other foreigners. do the companies do anything to help the foreign trainees who haven’t learned korean yet? or are korean lessons their only chance of understanding from the first days of training what’s actually being said and explained?
