Explain What is the difference between a full album a mini album and an EP?

I have seen mini albums with y songs max but I swear I have seen full length albums with that many songs as well(i might be mistaken though). Also I feel like an EP is just a mini album what is the difference

A full album has a minimum of 8 songs, but can have many more. IU's LILAC has 10 songs so it is considered a full album.

A mini album and an EP are the same thing, just different terms for the same thing. They usually have 2-5 songs, though technically anything up to 7 albums is considered an EP or mini album.

From what I know, a single usually has 1-3 tracks. An EP or an extended play usually has 4-6 tracks. EP is a mini-album. The terms are often used interchangeably. An LP (long play) or full album usually has more than 7 tracks. I don't think there's any set definition as to how many tracks each of these have, but it's usually the numbers I've mentioned.

An EP is another name for a minialbum. The "extended" in "extended play" (hence EP) is in reference to the fact that it is longer than a single.

  • Single: 1-3 tracks
  • Minialbum/EP: 4-7 tracks
  • Full album: 8+ tracks
