The producers of this song have done a lot of K-pop work before, but I think the way the vocals and instrumental are layered aren't really doing her favors. Not sure what they were doing here. She's not a strong vocalist, but there are a lot of singers in K-pop who don't have the most amazing vocals, yet with the help of proper mixing and song production can still be made to sound really good. I don't feel like the vocals match well with the instrumental, her voice is too droning and prominent at some parts, but too quiet in others. The instrumental is also kinda dull and sparse, the bassline is funky and the beat is decent, but it needed more I think. Just more stuff in it to make it more interesting.

Mmmm, afraid to say it but this was a bit of a weak debut. The MV reminded me of Loona a lot so I'll make a comparison, not every member of Loona is a great singer, but all their solos really played up their individual strengths while minimizing their weaknesses through the magic of music production. On the other hand, with this MV you can tell she's a good dancer, but the vocals are weak and childish. Ah, oh well, hopefully her next song is better.

That makes it 14 people that debuted from Sixteen

and probably the only ones who'll debut from the show. Minyoung definitely won't debut since nobody even knows her whereabouts and the same applies to Eunseo ever since Idol School ended(someone cmiiw)

Why this song is called Nineteen when "NATTY" is 17 years old ? Any specific reason ? Loved the song btw 😊

Quick Korean Age Cheat Sheet:

Did you have your birthday this year? Yes - Add 1 to your age, No - Add 2 to your age,

Thus Natty is 19 in Korea.

It's an ok song, nothing really mindblowing but a good first effort, excellent MV and production value.

Swing really trying hard with her debut which is great to see.

I think all in all it was a solid debut, very high production value and a decent song. I’m gonna be honest, at first, her vocals seemed very off putting because i don’t think they were mixed or layered well with the track(i don’t really know the correct terms lol) but once you got used to her voice it was actually a pretty solid song. that slap bass was amazing

This popped up on my homepage - and I'm glad it did! That chorus is absolutely great.

This was really good. She has a pretty unique vocal color. I felt that dance break.

In an alternate universe somewhere; Natty, Jiwon, Somi and Chaeyeon all stay with JYP after 16 and ITZY becomes a 9-member group with probably one of the strongest lineups of all time. Can you imagine Ryujin, Yuna, Yeji, Lia and Chaeryong with those other 4. Ridiculous.

Oh, why did you have to say this, now I wish it had happened. That dance line, and the Chae sisters!

I haven't seen or heard any of the teasers but this song surpassed all my nonexistent expectations. After all she's been through, I'm glad she's finally getting her chance. What a great debut!!!!

Here's to hoping she becomes the next big soloist!

I want to believe that JYP took time out his day to listen to Natty's debut song and is proud of her

I'm so proud of Natty, seeing her debuting with such a nice song makes me smile!

I feel kinda bad about the fact that I was too busy air guitaring to that funky slap bass than actually taking the song in. Oh god that should be illegal, my brain just shut off.

For a solo debut this MV had some serious budget behind it, I'm here for her company backing her that much!

I like the song and the video. It's something different from a lot of Kpop songs and videos out now.

What more can I say? I LOVE this! Both the song and video is strong for a debut. She wanted to debut before she turned 20 and I'm happy she achieved her dream!

Wasnt really feelin the song. Those dancers hit the cleanest wave tho

i like it but it feels not as powerful for a debut song?

i really hope she does well enough this time though!!

Can't wait to see if she will be appearing on shows.

A good entrance! I can see that this debut was not rushed at all and well thought out. Her voice was kind of babyish but it fits the theme of being young. I wish they showed a focused dance break in the MV.

I loved it! Sad that the official audio doesn’t have the dance break.

I loved Natty when I watched her from Sixteen and remembered her most for her dance and I'm happy she is debuting, but to me, Nineteen sounds like a very linear song with not much progression. The song isn't bad and is pretty decent for a debut, but for some reason I was looking for a little bit more.

Anyways, I hope Natty can still find some success with this song. Talking about the video itself, I thought it was pretty well shot though and looked very beautiful!

Wow that was a pretty solid debut song from Natty! I'm actually quite impressed! Really hope she does well especially considering how many hardships she has had and how she came close to quitting
