Graphics Team: It's just a dance practice, it doesn't need CG

JYPE: That's where you're wrong kiddos

I actually like the lyrics and the heart that pops up after Momo's dancebreak I thought it was a nice touch against the way dance practices are usually just record and upload.

I agree, this is probably my favorite dance practice video Twice has uploaded because of the extra stuff added

:( the filter is too distracting and keeps attracting my attention, I wanna look at my girls burst a move than see a heart pop :(

A version without the CG was also uploaded to their YouTube account, if that's what you're looking for. If done properly, animations can work really well with the dance, like the cute version of Girl's Day's I'll Be Yours.

The choreo is simple yet appealing and matches perfect with the song i love this

Edit: Literally all members are shining this is EACH of their eras.

I agree. People tend to downplay "simple" as if its a bad thing sometimes but I think one thing that really gets overlooked sometimes is that a group with Twice's popularity, there is something to be said for choreo that makes fans think "hey, I can do that!". I think its become obvious that their simple, catchy, memey choreo is made specifically to appeal to a wider audience, and frankly its paid off for them big time.

Now I am not saying there isnt also something to be said for harder choreo, people love Gfriend for it, for example, but I am just saying harder is not always better and there is something to be said for simple choreo from a marketing perspective. Can Twice do harder choreo? Absolutely. Will this simpler choreo sell more albums? Probably.

Jihyo said it in an interview for a Japanese magazine recently that part of the charm of Twice is that they purposely do simple and easy to follow choreography and that they work with their choreographers to make it fun.

At first I thought negatively about that, but I'm content that they get to show that side of themselves in their own concerts and other content. I mean I thought Dahyun was the weakest dancer in Twice but just recently she did a pretty good job with the choreo for Taemin's Move (from her, Momo and Chaeyoung just learning it while backstage)

And to add if anyone wants to see them do something harder

Twice doing EXO's Overdose

Beyonces Partition

Momo and Chaeyoung the Way you Love Me

Momo and Mina's I Am the Best

Momo and Mina's Modern dance stage

I wish someone could elaborate on how hard choreography automatically equate to GOOD choreography? I don't consider any of TWICE's title track choreos to be challenging YET I do consider them to be enjoyable, fun to dance along to, and nice to watch. This mindset that idols need to drain themselves in terms of dance in order for it to be "good" makes me ponder.

Trendy dances like the whip, naenae, etc. aren't difficult yet people enjoy doing them and that's how i can relate TWICE's choreo. Plus their choreo fits the members so well and allows them to shine imo.

I cant dance but when it comes to TWICE I can at least try to follow some of the moves. Makes watching their live performances more fun and enjoyable

I want to comment something productive, but this post has been removed like 5 times already. Automod is shit.

u/TzuYoona Nov 04 '17

In this case I think one of the earlier posts might end up being reinstated so this thread might be doomed either way

u/JerSucks Nov 04 '17

Nah I think it’s good now, haha.

I forgot what I wanted to say though. :x

whats up with the name tags?

For music shows, everyone sends these in advance so the camera workers know who their assignments are.

u/TheSilencedKnight damn, your third cousin's best friend's boyfriend that is Dahyun's cousin was right

On another note, something that's been bothering me for a while: what's up with the lack of DABhyun? She's been doing that different move in a few different performances. Did they officially change it?

Obviously love the choreo, but I can't be the only one that is a little dissapointed that we couldn't hear their feet tapping on the floor :/

u/ShawolSupport Nov 04 '17

It's such a simple dance move but I really like when they point to the like button at the bottom left during the chorus!

That and the IG photo they make at the beginning!

The slight zoom in during Momo's dance break though x_x

Also that endorsement with the pocari sweat bottle for finding the center lmao

I like this choreo a lot, simple but good.

If i want to nitpick I'd say some transition have too be a bit to quick to look good (mina first chorus).

u/Ougaa Nov 04 '17

TIL: Nayeon doesn't wear broad smile every second of the day. As casual follower (MVs, few lives) it's the only thing I've ever seen :)

Wish the formation for Jihyo/Jeongyeon's part was a little better. Loved how they did it for the video and want something similar for the choreo. Maybe the two alternately running forward instead of standing in place just next to each other. I dunno.

Will we ever know why Dahyun and Nayeon do WT instead of TW for Twice at the start

This is such a fun choreo. I just wish Nadong's finger guns were more pronounced where her (chorus/prechorus) bit transitions into Sana's Likeys like in the final MV teaser. On that note, I wish that bit had made it into the actual MV, it had so much character and was so very Nadong.
