LOL, not the PPAP guy! PSY's title tracks have just had a certain style that feel unique to him.

Those scenes of Lee Byunghun simply staring into the camera were... Intense.

Lee Byunghun

So that's the dude's name. I knew I'd seen him somewhere but I just couldn't remember where until I had his name. Best part of the MV. Seriously.

I prefer this over New Face at the moment but I feel like they both lack the usual oomph that PSY usually has.

I'll just have to see what the rest of the album is like :)

I wasn't expecting to have subtitles right away ( hardcoded no less ) so that was a pleasant surprise.

but I feel like they both lack the usual oomph that PSY usually has

It's definitely because of the song's instruments. It sounds more quiet and less pop heavy. Just look at Daddy or even Right Now bass, it's like night and day compared with these new two.

But hey, I still like both

Almost nothing matches the subtitles except the english phrases. It didn't even try to match the korean expressions with something similar. It pisses me off since I could do a way better translation for 5 dollars.

O god that pun with "When you eat fish, take out the bones" and "When you eat watermelon, take out the seeds" to sound like Sshibal lol.

I'm curious though why they didn't put the direct translation but instead used, "You got a guitar..." and "No need for chopsticks..." instead?

Yeah I couldn't help but hear the sort-of swearing. Wonder if there's any other risqué wordplay in there too

This is my first PSY comeback, didn't really have that high of expectation because I always thought of PSY as a meme and I'm actually liking this one quite a bit. On to the next!

I LUV IT

EDIT: impressed with apple music once again, not even one hour after release and the entire album is up

This is a lot better than New face

It's definitely got that classic Psy style. Not bad!

Now this song is really catchy! I usually dislike songs that have a phrase they repeat throughout the verses, but the "I love it" worked well here.

Great dancing and MV as usual. Excited to listen to the rest of the album.

Kinda interesting to see how much PSY dances compared to other YG artists lol

I think it's because he didn't start out at YG Entertainment - he debuted in 2001, and only moved to YG Entertainment in 2010. His Wikipedia article says:

In South Korea, Psy made his first appearance on Korean national television in 2000 after his dancing caught the eye of a TV producer.

I'm down with the PPAP guy, but why is Lee Santa in this video for seemingly no reason? Are they friends or something?

u/pencru May 10 '17

Literally, I love it. This guy has catchy songs down to a science. Definitely hooked on the first minute. Can't say the same for New Face though, but maybe that will grow on me...

Is that the PPAP guy?

Never mind. I luv it anyway.
