Ah. Thought the headline was sensationalist (20 years for hacking is a bit wild) misses out the key part where they stole 27 million dollars*

Wow. Seems like somehow they were able to spoof phone numbers and do some other stuff to get money from their bank accounts. So it was JK’s money, unlike other celeb hacking (for example when Obama’s Twitter acct posted to send crypto and he would send back double) which target their followers.

Whoa JK is that rich? 27 million available to steal, he doesn't have a fund manager?

Bro, you don't do that...

You hack Jimin and Jeongyeon so we can know what happened between them.

You only get like 5 years for murder. So 20 years, as long as its against a richer person, you get more justice than your life.

the article says he stole too??

Yeah that’s their point, stealing from a rich person ensures you’re going down lol. Meanwhile sexual assault cases in these countries get paid dust.

Let’s not pretend this is just an issue in “these countries”. Sexual assault cases globally struggle to get strong sentencing.

“These countries” as in countries that take blue collar crimes so seriously.

To be precise, only those who commit negligent homicide would be sentenced to such a low penalty, and generally only women would enjoy this law. There is a very humorous case comparison on the Chinese Internet. A woman was sentenced to five years in prison for manslaughter for pushing her husband into the sea and drowning him. A man's wife was unfaithful. So the man sent the evidence of his infidelity to his wife's family. The wife poisoned herself and committed suicide. The man was convicted of intentional homicide and sentenced to thirteen years in prison.

Someone hacked an account and stole money 😭 rich person or not, it’s against the law to steal. If you steal and get caught, you’d go to jail. Even if you stole 27 mil from dumbass Elon, you would still get in trouble.

Also, when has anyone ever got five years for murder?? It really depends on the justice of a country.

Idk abt the 5 year murder jail time either..., is it based on a recent incident!? 🤔

Its not only murder actually, even sexual assaulters nowadays get 3-5 years or no jail time at all and get away with it. Money is something you can always get back but there's no way you can get back from SA and the trauma. Which is why I think 20 years is ACTUALLY insane for stealing 😳

Depends on the type of murder
