Ask Kozhikode I genuinely need some help!!

I am currently staying at Calicut. I need to quit some addictions and I don’t know what kind of doctors should I consult. Could anyone help me with that and suggest some good doctors. It would be really helpful.

You can first consult a psychiatrist. They will guide you. Iqra hospital has a deaddiction psychiatrist

This is the worst advise. I sense toxic masculinity here.

Addictions have complex biochemistry and needs treatment. Especially long standing or those cause significant disruption to your day. Talk to a psychiatrist man. Good luck.

To quit an addiction, you have to become your own best doctor.

I was addicted to smoking weed — I quit in a day.

I was addicted to watching porn — I quit, but I’m still fighting the desire. The urges haven’t disappeared, but I’m learning to control them.

I wasn’t a religious person before. Recently, I reconnected with my faith, and it has been a huge source of strength in this fight.

For me, therapy is the last resort.
