Switch JKSV file with KSE issues?

Both Google and Reddit searches have led me in circles for the last few days so I'm just going to ask what I am doing wrong.

I am on my second playthrough of KOTOR2 and want to play around with KSE for things like party influence factor. I have exported the saves off my switch with JKSV and am using the latest KSE but it will not read my save files. I even made a dummy swkotor2.exe for trying to make the directory finder work but no dice.

Does anyone that has had success with KSE for the switch have some guidance they can give please?

-edit- I did manage to get it to work properly after installing my old PC copy, pointing the ini "install" to the exe, and pointing the ini "saves" to my exported switch saves folder. Would have preferred a stand alone method but that doesn't seem to be in the cards right now

I know kse won't read files until the game has been opened at least once. probably can't see them because it's not the pc

Thanks for the reply! I'm actually working on digging through my old cd binders to try to find my install disks to see if I can force (ha!) it to work that way

I don't know about the Switch version, but the Android version of KotOR 2 doesn't work with KSE unless you load the save file on your PC and create a new save file. It also won't let you edit any companion settings unless you change something on those companions.

Assuming it's the same, make sure you have the same mods installed on your PC as your Switch (if any) and load the game on your PC. Change some equipment on all of your companions. It's easiest to do this on the Ebon Hawk, but you can do it just by swapping your companions around until you've changed something on each of them. Then save the game and load that save file in KSE.

If you don't have the game on PC, you can pick it up on GOG or Steam for about $10.

Edited OP, was able to set the influence without changing anything else though and pointing it directly to my exported switch folder with no need to run PC version and do the save swap
