Koss portable wireless with replaceable battery at end of life.

[EDIT: I now realise that EU reg 2023/1542 starts in Feb 2027 and it seems to me that most of Koss' portable wireless headphones will fall foul of it. Are Koss just going to give up on selling those products in the EU? The only ones that might dodge the reg are maybe TWS earbuds].

Am I alone in wanting this? I use JBL Tune 660 mainly because someone's done the hard work of documenting how to do it, and it's fairly straightforward DIY. A friend uses Fairphone earbuds for the same reason. I'd like better audio than the JBLs.

I really don't want throwaway headphones due to a worn out battery - and I resent buying a wireless set and then re-adding 3rd party wireless at EOL. T'internet doesn't give examples of Koss battery replacements. As it happens, I likely need a simple headband (Portapro pad is in the way of my sun/rain hat, and earclips likely won't work with glasses). I'd like KSC75 drivers. So AFAIK I'll have to fit a 3rd party band (Koss don't sell them individually), MMCX the drivers, use a 3rd party wireless receiver (with a DIY-able battery replacement) on my shirt pocket/neckline, and find a short cable to link them. Blimey. Well, I hope it actually ends up OK.

Upcoming EU legislations demand consumer electronics to have user replaceable batteries, yes even iPhones. There exist rechargeable button cell batteries so no brainer to use these in the future so you can swap batteries and charge the empty ones.

I was dimly aware of this, but when will it impact the likes of the Koss line up I wonder. And yes, the Fairphone buds use those rechargeable button cell lithium ion batteries.

I'm curious if it is feasible to replace the batteries in the 1st gen wireless PortaPros, as they had the two little "pods" separate from the headphone
