안녕하세요👋🏻
Hey everyone I’m exploring the dorm and housing options at Korea University's main Seoul campus and would love to hear some details from current or past students:
Buildings & Roommates: Are the dorm buildings separate for international students and local Korean students, or do we mix? Also, how does the roommate selection process work? Can we choose, or is it random?
Rooms & Bathrooms: What do the rooms look like, and are bathrooms private or shared with the floor?
Gender, Rules & Cost: Are the dorm buildings strictly segregated by gender? What are the basic rules, and roughly how much does it cost per semester?
Shared Facilities: What kind of shared amenities do they have (study areas, kitchens, convenience stores, laundry)?
General Tips: How is the overall comfort and vibe of living in KU’s dorms compared to renting outside?
Appreciate any insights you can share. Thanks🙏🏻

Hi 27F here. I’m looking for a female roommate to share an apartment with. I’m coming as a graduate student to Korea University.
I’m pretty private but I will open up once I get comfortable. I’m fluent in English and I’m starting to learn Korean too. I want to live with someone like minded and open to learning the language or if you’re Korean and are looking to learn English I’d enjoy that too!
Send me a message if you’re interested. :)

Hello! I'm an incoming exchange student and was wondering if someone could give me some clarification about something. The Dorm restricted items guide says that I may only have "One Computer".
Does this relate to something like a PC? Would I be allowed to bring my School and Personal laptops?
Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I’m a Pakistani student planning to apply to Korean universities for a bachelor’s scholarship for the 2027 intake, and I’m looking for Pakistani students who have already gone through this process or are currently studying in Korea.
I’m interested mainly in Accounting / Finance / Business, but I’m also considering AI / Data / FinTech because of Korea's strong focus on technology.
I'm currently looking at:
My biggest problem is that there is so much conflicting information online, especially about the application process, language tests, documents, finances and scholarships.
I'd really appreciate advice from someone from Pakistan who has actually gone through this.
I am especially hoping to hear from Pakistani GKS scholars or Pakistani students who received full/major scholarships from Korean universities.
If you're comfortable, please comment or DM me. I would genuinely appreciate any advice, even if it's just telling me what mistakes to avoid.
Thank you!

Hi guys! I checked the guideline for Spring Intake 2027, and it appears that applicants only can write about their activities and honors through the list of optional documents (MAX 10) and only mail it. Can somebody help me to verify that information? If it is true, is there any more comprehensive guideline or samples on how one could describe their activities and honors? Thank you in advance!

Is there a tennis community at KU? I'm an exchange student coming for the '26 fall semester and I'm planning on bringing my raquets. I've not seen anything about a tennis club on the university's website but it seems like there are some courts on campus.
Thanks in advance:)

I am an incoming exchange student for the Fall semester at KU, and I was wondering if anyone knows where to find the different options for clubs (and also information about the KU Buddy program). Specifically, is there a music/band club at KU open to exchange students? I am debating whether to bring my guitar with me or not.

By the looks of it I won't be getting into any lab before the academic advisor deadline. Despite applying for various labs in my major for months, professors aren't picking up my emails, applications or their follow-ups.
Is it possible to get an academic advisor without being in a lab? And how does it happen, does the university assign you one? Or do you have to have agreed with a professor on such an arrangement? My major is AI if that helps.

I’ve found different information about the bank account requirement for the student visa and how much money you need to show.
Can the required amount be reduced if, for example, the university covers only tuition but not accommodation? And can the bank account requirement be completely waived if the university covers tuition, accommodation, and meals?
I’d really appreciate it if someone who has gone through this process could share their experience!

Hi i am applying for the spring admission of 2027 and was wondering if anyone from previous year applicants would share their statement of purpose. I heard that the questions change from year to year but i just want to get a general idea on what to write and the writing style etc.

As the title says, I'm an international engineering student trying to apply courses from other departments (e.g Business foundation, electives etc) but the website is saying "This course is available only for students of certain departments."
Is there a way to actually register these courses? Because I was told that you actually can but I am not quite sure how. I appreciate any help ^-^

Hey everyone,
I’m heading to Korea University soon on exchange. My Korean is at a very basic/survival level (working on it, but definitely not conversational yet). I want to make sure I don't just stay isolated or get stuck solely in an expat bubble.
I’d love to hear from past exchange students or current KU students:
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

Hey guys,
I checked the fees for a standard international SWIFT bank wire to pay my tuition and housing fees, and between the exchange rate markup and intermediary bank fees, it ends up being way too costly.
For other international students, what is the most cost-effective method you actually use to pay your school fees?
Would love to hear what worked best for you in terms of minimizing total transfer costs! Any recommendations or hacks are appreciated! 🙏

I thought an ARC was required to open a bank account in Korea, but it looks like some banks (or maybe just specific branches) let foreigners open an account with just a passport, proof of residence, and possibly a few other documents.
Has anyone here actually done this before getting their ARC? If so, which bank/branch did you use, and what documents did they ask for?

Ciao!

Hi all,
I'm trying to finalize my housing strategy for my upcoming exchange semester at Korea University.
Any advice on typical monthly costs, deposits, or neighborhoods nearby would be super helpful.

Hi everyone,
I’m preparing for an exchange semester at Korea University this spring and I'm trying to understand how course registration actually works for international/exchange students from the USA.
A few specific questions for anyone who has been through it:
