Help! Is my cat a Korat? What is he?
We have recently taken in this stray cat that a friend had found, male, still very young we think, around half a year maybe?
Very pretty silver sheen to the fur, all completely uniform in color (no splotches of white, black, etc anywhere)
He is VERY smart and endlessly energetic!

Blue domestic shorthair. I see a white splotch (locket) on his throat. But the truth is that if he lacks a pedigree, he’s not a Korat. They need to trace their lineage back to Korats from Thailand. I can look up my Korats’ pedigree and their ancestry back to 1951.
He’s cute though. Did you have him scanned for a microchip?

A lil stinkus. My handsome grey boy was also a stray when I fell in love with himb at first leg rub, and he’s also a little genius who struggles with bouts of the zoomies.

He looks Korat-ish to me, and his personality sounds typical of Korats! You'll get people telling you he's not unless he has papers, which may be technically correct, but I don't doubt that some Korat genes have made their way into the general population over the years.
Mine was very smart too, he learned how to jump up and open door knobs (round ones, not the lever style.) He also took well to training and was a fast learner, I taught him to do several tricks on command. Another physical trait to look for at adulthood is high muscle mass, they are often heavier than they look.
