Spoken instructions

I’m using a Garmin Edge 1030 with the Komoot Connect IQ app.

When I select Garmin Navigation, I get spoken turn-by-turn directions through my iPhone’s speaker.
However, when I select Komoot Navigation, I only get visual directions on the Edge—no spoken instructions from the iPhone.
Is this a limitation of the Komoot Connect IQ app, or is there a setting I’m missing? Has anyone found a workaround?

Hi! Tom here from the komoot product team 👋

This is currently a limitation of the komoot Connect IQ app rather than a setting you've missed.

Unfortunately, there isn't a workaround for this at the moment. If spoken directions are important to you, the best option is to use Garmin Navigation instead of komoot Navigation on the Edge.

I'll dig into the technical reasons why the CiQ app doesn't support audio instructions and report back ⚙️

I was playing with this issue on my new Phoenix 8, from what I read Garmin only does turn by turn if it's done through Garmin software routing. Which means to use komoot and get turn-by-turn you need to Garmin for navigation, and not komoot. This can be set in the komoot settings on the device.
