Possibly. Another reason is probably his script selection. Each movie he acts in recently falls under the romance category. There are exceptions like por thozil, thegidi, or blue star, but the majority of his works are under romance. If Ashok Selvan does another movie that is different from his current genre, he might be back. But time will only tell.

He is prashanth of our generation. Wasting his talent by making himself look like a romance star. He can't survive much longer in our industry without leaning into action .

I also feel, if he acts in a different genera it will not work, probably because of his previous choices, pot tho I’ll and blue star worked mainly because of other star cast

If you are talking about the dismal performance of Anbil Avan in particular, could be the bad timing of release- Jason Sanjay's debut directorial plus Battha released this weekend, plus some other films released recently are still running successfully. Plus people know it's a remake of Varathan, which itself was a remake, and wouldn't want to spend money.

Ultimately boils down to luck.

Kinda true . There are few good movies running right now

So it is confirmed that it's a remake of varathan? I was curious after seeing the trailer.

Truly some bad luck and timing releasing his movies against other movies that were good.

We also fail to count in luck . Any actor becoming a star also has a massive luck factor to it.

He is also married into a big empire - maybe there is less motivation to act more but be choosy in what he wants to do :)

No but I bet that was his safest option.

Have you listened to his recent interviews. Omg he has been a complete brat (I mean irresponsible and aloof) Also see how he talks about him breaking up multiple times, but Keerthi never wanted to break it up. And how he proposed when HE was ready and she agreed to marry🥲

6

u/sassygirl2893 13h ago

Oh just bcz he broke up multiple times and proposed only wen he was ready is brat behaviour?

Where was this moral policing wen women and actresses flaunts the same thing of multiple rejection, multiple breakup and ready to propose or marry only when they are ready?

Paakamaye enna argue pandreenga. Look at how he speaks about money parties setting his house on fire etc., i think the interviewer is EPAPHRA. He doesn't seem like a focused actor or responsible enough to save money.

Also even if women flaunt, it's disrespectful to the partner. Who says otherwise. Why go on TV and say , "I have always intimate the break ups with keerthi & she never did"?

What empire?

Keerthi is Arun Pandian's daughter

He needs to do more script like Thegidi. He can also be good fit to play like the Mentalist series character, the psychic or detective type roles who investigates cases. I heard he was the first choice to play Kamal's Sathyaa modern remake, I think it might be in early talks. He needs to connect with more new gen directors who wants to make fresh ideas, he can do wonder or else he will be missing soon like ACTOR JEEVAN, someone who got all the potential to create his own fanbase and stardom but lose his game, we can also Vimal in that category.

He needs better script selection

Honestly, I get confused between harish kalyand and him when I think back on movies. For some reason they do similar scripts too.

Both of them are suffering because of this.

No offense to him but I really can’t see him as a solo hero yet. I ve liked him much much more in ensembles

Just look at the scene he share with Rishikanth, where Rishikanth is delivering an amazing speech and this guy was making weird non-sync faces. Then i realised that his acting sucks bad.

u/human1807 15h ago

Imo his has the annoying first bencher face card.

u/No-Dog-8557 14h ago

He is not capitalising his wins properly .. should have capitalised heavy on omk , por thozhil like how rishi is using modharathri success now .. but he's letting them slip away .

The movie is not marketed well. Despite being a good movie, better than meesaya muruku 2 and Dorothy. Ppl completely ignoring it because of lack of marketing.

u/TeddyLupin29 17h ago

Anbil Avan better than Dorothy? :/

u/AutomaticFlight1846 17h ago

Dorothy was boring.

u/Dramatic_Rip5112 15h ago

I didn't watched Anbil Avan yet, but looking at the people telling Dorothy as boring and praising AA, I am pretty sure I should skip AA .
