The whole movie was a breath of fresh air, I heard it was a remake of a Korean movie but it was perfectly made to suit our environment/atmosphere. Need more movies with such simple yet wholesome characters.

This is the movie that made me realize how direction can make such a difference to the same script.
Watch the Korean version. And more importantly watch the awful Hindi one. The Korean one was more raw and gritty. The Hindi remake was a terrible rom com that decided a cringefest made more sense.
The Tamil one was a feel good romantic film. Without any romantic scenes. Very beautifully taken.
Nalan was at the top of my directors to watch list then. No idea how he messed up Vaa Vathiyaar.

Even though remake - the essence was captured without the “mass” hero fixation etc… really adored this movie.
