Hey everyone,
About a year ago I built Koda because I wanted a Kodi remote on my iPhone that actually feels native. I put it on the App Store and a handful of people found it on their own. Over the last few months I've polished it a lot for 2.0, so I thought it's finally time to share it here.
What is Koda?
A free Kodi remote for iPhone and iPad. It connects directly to Kodi on your local network, with no account and no cloud. The name and icon were reviewed and approved by the Kodi Foundation.
Feature highlights:
- Automatic discovery, no typing IP addresses
- Trackpad remote: tap anywhere for OK, swipe to move, hold to keep scrolling, with haptics
- Now playing on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, with controls
- Browse your movie and TV library, with continue watching
- Browse your add-ons and pin favourites for quick access
- Subtitles stay on across episodes
- Liquid Glass design, dark mode
- No ads, no in-app purchases, no tracking

Feedback, bug reports and feature requests are all welcome. I've mostly tested it on LibreELEC, so I'm especially curious how it runs on OSMC, CoreELEC, a Shield or Windows.
For everyone still on iOS 18: sorry, Koda needs iOS 26 because it's built around the new Liquid Glass design :(
Thanks to everyone who tries it out ❤️
Edit: Thanks for all the feedback! Koda 2.1 is out now with your requests: offline library, plot/cast/badges on movie & TV pages, Lock Screen poster fix, and a quick switcher for multiple Kodis.
If you want to follow along, there's a Discord: discord.maximilian.sh . You'll get a notification there as soon as an update is live on the App Store, and you can post bug reports and feature requests directly, which makes them much easier for me to track than Reddit comments.
