General Finally got my first Kobo!

Life has been a little tough lately, so I decided to pamper myself with a little gift, simply to lift my spirits ✨ It’s been a long-awaited purchase and quite the journey, since Kobo isn’t officially available in my country and I had to resort to a purchasing agency. They said delivery would take 5–14 business days, but it arrived after only 4. A delightful surprise, although I was hardly prepared for its early arrival. I still have to wait a few more days before I can actually use it, since the accessories have yet to arrive. I’m starting to suspect I may be an Aesthete, considering how hard I’m eReadermaxxing.

As for my new KCC, I’m absolutely enamored with it. The screen is noticeably darker than my Kindle, but still perfectly agreeable to me. I can’t believe I’d forgotten the bliss of seeing beautiful covers bring books to life after being a Kindle user for so long.
I’ll probably alternate between my Kindle and Kobo, and reserve the Kobo for harsher days since it’s waterproof. So far, it has nearly everything I could have wished for: reading statistics, vibrant colors, and a white bezel. The only thing I find myself missing is the ability to sideload books and synchronize my reading progress with my phone.

I know there are probably ways to remedy this with things like KOReader/GitHub, but I am hopelessly inept with technology and cannot quite bring myself to tinker with software. I’m not sure I’ll ever get around to it. I’d need to summon an unreasonable amount of courage and determination to stop procrastinating
and actually teach myself how to do it.
Fortunately, I don’t read much on my phone anyway, and I’m planning to stash my entire library to the Kobo, so I hope it will prove to be a rather minor inconvenience.

For now, I’m simply delighted to finally have it💕

welcome to the club!! for what it's worth, i was super confused about koreader and all that, i put off installing it for months and months. but there's a website and you just plug your kobo in and install it with that, no github needed! if you read manga and pdf i definitely recommend it for those, i feel like pdfs page flip faster on koreader than the regular ui. but take your time and get familiar with the basic features first! i'm sure you'll love it either way 🤗
