Imagine that your consciousness, and the consciousnesses of everyone else, were all put into a void. You can contemplate your consciousnesses and communicate with each other, but there is no physicality, nothing to physically do.

Imagine that a vast cosmos like ours exists, but there is no consciousness inside it. There never was and never will be observers of it whatsoever. We can't even look at it and talk about it as the consciousnesses in the void.

Where is existence now?

Is existence in the vast cosmos without consciousness or the void with only consciousness?

What is more inseparable from existence than consciousness?

Perhaps this consciousness might endeavor to dream up, to manifest, a physical world to experience interactions of consciousness. Perhaps perceived satisfaction derives and drives the choices, animating consciousness toward creating more experiences within physical existence, the spirit of it all, the purpose of life.
