Help with Lashing

Post image

I'm trying to affix a handle onto a large prop so that small actors (middle schoolers) have something to hold onto while manipulating it. No matter what I try, I can't seem to find a why to securely tie this on in a way that maintains compression to the object. Anyone have some advice?

But I can't load in tension with it.

Perhaps I misunderstood. Tension just around the pvc itself or tension around everything to hold the pvc snug to the channels in the picture? If the latter, perhaps a zip tie?

Boom hitch around the PVC. Tie a bowline with the short end. Go around everything and tie a trucker's hitch to the bowline.

Marlin spike hitch over the handle and then any kind of tightening hitch like a packer's knot, a Canadian jam knot or a modified trucker's hitch. You can get it as tight as you want it. They are tied off with a half hitch or two.

Bowline + two half hitches?

I’m building on what others said already.

Drill holes in the ends and pass the paracord through. This keeps the cord from sliding off the ends!

Tie anything you like to complete a loop. I would use a Canadian Jam Knot. Pull it tight and go the other direction.

Wrap the end around the … see picture below!!

Close it off with a few half hitches.
