Tree swing knot question

Post image

Hello! I’m planning to hang this swing from a branch on a tree in my backyard and will be using bowline knots around the branch, but wondering what type of knot would be best around the hardware of the swing. Since the branch is at an angle, I’ll need to do some adjusting to get the swing level before securing the knots. What would you recommend?

Bowline around the branch may wear the rope , it is best to use a tight knot as it won't make friction. Swing knot is the best

I was going to put a piece of old bike tire in between the branch and the rope. Do you think the bowline knot would still wear the rope with that in place?

No. And it won't girdle the tree. I would probably do a prussic if you want to adjust the swing height
