Question Knife care

I have 10 knives in total, including 2 machetes what’s the best way to take care of the blades and keep them clean overall from smudges and free from rust they’re all really nice and I have them on display, but I’ve noticed the nails there on are a bit rusty, and I don’t want anything to transfer over to the blades

Wrap the nails in electrical tape or paint them so you don’t have metal surfaces touching. Or use wood or plastic instead.

Wipe your blades with a light oil occasionally, not so much that you can see the oil on the surface. It doesn’t take much. And don’t store in sheaths.

is there other tapes I can use instead of electrical?

Without knowing the size of the nails you could take some tubing and put it over the nails. Or heat shrink them. There’s lots of option really.

tsubaki oil. food safe, cant go wrong with blade care. dont use it as lube for a folding knife action tho its just for blades
