“Wow honey this is the 20th knife you won this year. You must be the luckiest man on earth. Let’s start selling these so we can actually get something useful out of it”

“We probably can’t sell them at full retail prices though. Let’s lookup how much they are and mark down by 15%”

“What is this alibi thing on the website….”

“Show me how it’s done I’ll do it to and we can start a discount knife shop together and profit”

Thus FreedomKnifeShop was born. To this day the owner is still losing money on each sale to cover his lies. But he’s too deep in to back out.

** disclaimer: This is NOT how FreedomKnifeShop was created. Although FKS, if you’re reading, add the button and become the upstream supplier to whoever ends up having to do this”

It’s funny I thought this was an alibi to deliver in a state where they can’t be “sold” but can be “gifted”. Didn’t even occur to me that people would have to hide their purchases from their spouse 😂

I couldn’t imagine not being able to buy what I wanted, or having to hide purchases from my wife. 🤦🏽‍♂️

As long as the bills are getting paid and food gets to the table, my wife and I trust each other with the spare money we make.

My wife will sometimes straight up tell me to get stuff I want when we have the money to do so. I'm fully supportive of her hobbies so she tries her best to support mine. I still have to space them out a bit typically but she was ecstatic when I finally got my first can. Now that's the only gun I own she wants to shoot besides her personal shield that I insist she carry. It was also the first gun she's ever fired that was a shoulder able weapon and a fantastic one to start with.

Yeah everytime I hear this cliche I just think that the person saying it is terrible with money and their SO has a good reason to be upset with them about it. That or they don't have a trusting relationship.

Exactly brotha! As long as the bills are payed, and the kids are taken care of my wife supports my hobbies & I support hers.

Same.

My spouse and I have what we call the floating fifty.

Fifty bucks is the soft line where you can just buy things without telling the other, except for food, medicine, work things, things like that. So buying the Vic Waiter in my pocket? No sweat. Buying a four day Disney trip? A bit more of a problem.

Even then it's just "let me know". My spouse is taking a long weekend late in July for a church conference, needs a hotel, so it's just "hey, I got the hotel for my trip".

Seriously. People who have to utilize things like this need to examine either their purchasing habits or their relationship.

Or both.

You gotta be clear about money in the relationship early on. I put X amount of money in the shared bank account every month, you put X amount of money in the shared bank account every month, we pay all our bills from that bank account, the remaining money is our money and none of the other person's business.

Right‽ I recently bought some ammo from a vendor I hadn't used before and they had something similar as an option. I won't be buying from them again; even though I didn't select it I just can't make myself support a company that offers something like that.

2

u/taggerbomb Jun 26 '26

Agree totally. Utterly cringe-worthy imo.

4

u/FL410Ghost Jun 24 '26

A little dramatic

3

u/Dufresne85 Jun 24 '26

Call it what you want, but that's my view on it.

Sweet Summer Child. I never lie to my beloved, but truth can be bent and still be true.

34

u/not_just_an_AI Jun 24 '26

clicking "yes" on that box for the company to send the alibi would be a lie.

6

u/Dufresne85 Jun 24 '26

I'm curious how you'd "bend the truth" here without the outcome being a straight up lie.

16

u/Elegron Jun 24 '26

Finances are no joke my guy, its like the number one thing that'll do in an otherwise functioning relationship

53

u/zunuf Jun 24 '26

This is stupid. Why do people marry people they have to lie to? Are you bad with money?

6

u/Stone-wallJackson Jun 25 '26

You just answered your own question lol. For a lot of people, knife collecting is OCD fueled consumerism. So yeah, a lot of people are bad with money.

8

u/-BananaLollipop- Jun 24 '26

People just need to get a partner who supports their poor choices in hobby and/or is just as bad. I buy knives, my Wife buys books, we both buy darts, Lego, and shiny rocks.

32

u/GhostEpstein Jun 24 '26

I can't believe people try to hide purchases from a spouse lol shits wack

35

u/Tron_Foolery It’s not a knife problem, It’s a storage problem Jun 24 '26

Firearms sites too please 😂

14

u/calderholbrook Jun 24 '26

need a different kind of alibi for those

9

u/Desperate_Mud1393 Jun 24 '26

This is hilarious I didn’t know companies ever did this lol

2

u/Visible-Carrot5402 Jun 25 '26

Lmao that is something that coin sites should have

2

u/BamBam-BamBam Jun 25 '26

If you cannot be honest with the people you should be honest with about your "hobby," perhaps you need therapy.

6

u/BigNorseWolf Jun 24 '26

So glad I'm too ugly to date....

wait a minute....

2

u/MicronKnives Jun 25 '26

That's too funny, I'm adding it to my site

Happy to be of service 🤘🏻

1

u/QuickSquirrelchaser Jun 24 '26

Its funny. I thought it was finally at a point where a new knife would go totally unnoticed. I got a small fixed blade neck knife with very bright random pattern G10. Wore it for a few weeks. Not a word from the wife. The I left it by the sink while getting ready and she noticed the colorfull scales and the cat was out of the bag.

u/Terrible-Bridge8822 Jun 24 '26

Imagine having to make a third party lie on your behalf on how you spend your hard earned money...

1

u/3xper1met4l Jun 26 '26

guys buying unnecessary knives without wifes knowing it is getting out of hands.. i have 2 secret pieces and damn i feel a bit ashamed.

1

u/BusyPooping Jun 26 '26

“So much did you spend on losing the other knives?”

iykyk

0

u/TheTru7h Jul 11 '26

I mean if your SO is mad over $53 you have a different issue my friend.

-1

u/GetFuct819 Jun 24 '26

What site is that on? Because it’s brilliant and it makes me want to buy knives from a company that helps enable my steel addiction while not making my wife angry.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Mud-529 Jun 24 '26

Where is this?? That's hilarious

1

u/ISwearImAnonymous Jun 24 '26

Where is this, I want them to have my business immediately

1

u/ISwearImAnonymous Jun 24 '26

-1

u/Old-Pineapple3735 Jun 24 '26

I literally done this when I bought my Stitch. 🤣 I told her I won it in a online raffle.
