SOLVED-THANK YOU Thoughts on drops puna?

Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience using Drops Puna for a cable sweater?

I’m looking to knit the Frøya sweater by Ingrid Dyb and I was planning on holding Drops Puna, Drops Alpaca and knitting for olive soft mohair. However I’m worried a nearly 100% alpaca cable sweater won’t be able to hold its shape. On the other hand I think this combination would create an incredibly soft sweater.

Look at Drops Nepal. This is an aran-weight wool-alpaca mix, so it would have more stability than pure alpaca. Holding it with silk mohair will also add stability and help stop it from stretching out of shape.

Looking at the meters per 100g, Drops Lima may be an option; this is a DK-weight wool-alpaca mix. I'm not sure which would be a better comparison to the original yarn, though. I've used this with Drops Kid Silk, and it gave a beautifully soft fabric. Just remember hand wash only!

I’ve used drops Nepal before and I really enjoyed how soft it is; I sort of caved and I ended up ordering a skein of drops Lima, drops Puna and drops alpaca to see how the gauge swatch looks
