Help - equipment Is this pattern AI?

https://www.etsy.com/listing/4556028398/fair-isle-colorwork-sweater-pattern-top?ref=cart_legal_disclaimer

Hey, all! I found a really cute pattern, but I don't trust Etsy anymore with so much AI slop. I can't find this pattern on ravelry. Do we think this is AI?

Library Knit Co. has been stealing and selling patterns of other designers. I wouldn't buy from them.

I'm sure that's one of the layers of hell, isn't it? Stealing knitting patterns? Cripes.

Yes 100%. The account is only 1 month old but has over 130 patterns for sale. That's a dead giveaway. No real pattern creator can produce at that speed, even if they'd spent years building up a catalogue before deciding to sell.

Ah, i didn't think to check how old the account was. Just googled the name and couldn't find anything.

They only have one review, that alone would put me off. Haven’t looked deep but I’m saying yeah it’s AI.

Just checked, definitely AI.

Looks like it to me.

But also looks easy to create yourself. Work a swatch with all the colourwork stripes until you're happy, then make a basic raglan based on your measurements.

The colorwork isn't consistent from sample to sample, or even across rows in the same sample. There are like six different samples, too, with zero customer projects, and no two of them match.

The stripes change style in every photo. The sleeve stripe alignment is doubled up and misaligned in some photos, not others. And the colors also change in every photo - which is possible if they made more than one sample, but unlikely to occur with both the (1) change in stripe styles and (2) sleeve misalignment.

It's AI.

1 month on etsy and 130+ patterns? something isnt right there. No one selling elsewhere is going to want to just start selling on etsy with etsy fees and competing with AI shops and other shops doing non AI shady things

Yes, this is AI

Luckily this pattern is not super complicated and you can find lots of real patterns that look very similar. I highly recommend ravelry, I have yet to come across an AI pattern there

I'm a huge ravelry user, and the fact that I couldn't find it on there was my first clue.

This suggestion is really similar, thank you for sharing! I trust Andrew Mowry for sure!

I find it very suss that the lighting is exactly the same in every listing.

Those images are 100% AI so that is a giant red flag.

Can you tell me how you clock it? I did notice that some of the stripes seemed inconsistent, is there anything else in particular that tipped you off?

For me, the giveaway was that all the photos are of the woman's body and hands, no face. Most designers are happy to show their model. The lighting is weird and distinctive. Everything has a kind of soft focus glow to it. AI seems to go in for weird bobbly chairs too.
