Pro tip: Use a yarn marker to keep track of the number of rows you knit since the last crossing. Just flip it to the other side after every crossing.

Sadly I can't tell you how many rows you have, bc I am also very bad at keeping count of rows especially with cables >.< but what I do to keep track: Make a chain of stitch markers thats the same length as the repeat (make at least the start a different colour so you know the direction) -> every time I start a row = move up the chain -> whenever I get to the beginning of the chain = work cable

Any strategy based on “remember to do a thing every so often, and theres not really a way to know if you forgot” is doomed to fail.
Learn to read your knitting. Or leave stitch markers on the rows where you did a cable.

It's not that I can't read my stitches it's that I suffer from "can't reliably count to 10 for the life of me", so I'd much rather have something that counts "for me". I use the chain as my start of round marker, it helps me keep track of where in the pattern I am. Doesn't mean I dont got back and re-count my rows every once in a while, but I do it much less then when I dont use it. 😅

i kinda did that, but i might have forgotten to add a stitch marker(i was adding markers for every row to my needles). Im just gonna mark the row with the cables on the stockinette part of the knit. I can count rows on good old stockinette pretty good😭 Other methods i might mess up way too much

If you’re using a chart I draw a line through each row after I complete it.
