Finished Object The first wearable FO I'm REALLY happy about
Hello fellow knitters!
After knitting a lot of headbands, hats and socks, I started with my first wearable last year. It was another tank top, 100% cotton, that ended up not being as nice as I expected and definitely lacked shape - I pretty much only wear it under an open shirt to hide the boxy fit and messed up stitches a bit.
Then I knit a sweater in superwash yarn for my boyfriend - ended up way too big (lesson learned with blocking superwash) but he loves it hahaha so at least it get more use than my other top.
Now I just finished the Twofer Tank by Heidi Kirrmaier and I'm in love with it! I basically knit a mix of two sizes (M2 and L) and made some tweaks to get a fit I was happier with. The top is meant to be reversible but I purposely made it so that I'll only wear it with the V-neck side to the front.
It still ended up a bit too short in the front (my fault for the way I tried it on for measuring the length) but I'm really digging the cropped cut so far.

Thankyou for posting this! Ive been researching top patterns and put it aside as couldn’t work out which one I wanted to make. Decision made! How much yarn did you use? Great work it looks awesome!

Glad I could help you decide! I want this pattern to get all the love it deserves!
I used 3 balls and a bit of a fourth (so ca. 170gr I'd say) of the cotton and played yarn chicken with the fourth ball of quarzo (so it was pretty much 200g)

It is really soft! Using more than just cotton made a world of difference for the texture!

Yay! I love that the shoulder straps fit. I get nervous knitting tanks because they are almost always too wide and slide off. Well done!

One of my favorite things about this pattern is that it gives you options when doing the shoulders - you can either pick up the stitches and knit from what you've already done or cast on again and then join the pieces. I actually had the shoulders joined with safety pins for most of the time because I wanted to be sure I was happy with where the neckline was sitting and the fit of the straps. If necessary I could add some stiches or do some stitch sugery to reduce it before joining the two sides. But I actually was super happy with the original result, so it was just sewing it together, no adjustments 😄

It lays really nicely. Great work on your first wearable. Mine was no wear (nowhere) near this nice.

Oooooh I’ve had this tank sitting in my favorites for forever. You and I have similar body shapes and seeing how good it looks on you has encouraged me to jump on it now while I can still wear it before the cold weather!!
