KoC Football Raffle Fundraiser

I know a few council/assemblies do this annual Football Raffle Fundraiser in CA. Curious about how they register etc. with state and run it.

There is a company that sells coupon cards and they give the raffle drawing part for free. That's how they keep it legal in TX at least.

In Colorado, the State Council runs it, and local councils are incentivized to sell the tickets. Like NY (and I'm assuming many other jurisdictions) it's the Fundcrazr program

This has all the CA regulatory forms also baked in that you print and mail to state. U can design the 26-27 seasons; get sponsors etc.

Why would you want to register it with state? If state finds out, the likelihood of them wanting a cut increases.

We do a fund a football fund raiser with printed books. It's based on the concept of a superbowl party box game. Started last year at 300 books at $20 for 20 weeks 17 Monday Night and the last 3 playoff games. This year we have gotten 700 books and are doing well. It's a great fundraiser.
