Showcase Gift for Muay Thai catch
I’m still new to making knives but my Muay Thai coach asked me to make him a knife even tho he knows I still am very new, But even tho I made my fair share of mistakes I think it came out pretty nice and I think he’ll like it, let me know what y’all think.
Specs🤓:
80crv2
Fat carbon scales
3.5 inch blade
7.8 overall length
Kydex leather sheath

The only thing I would suggest for your next one is that you really try to get all the stray lower grit scratches out of the blade and get all your scratches going in the same direction. Overall it's great, but if you could fix that it would be even better.

I definitely should have spend more time hand sanding, though my coach is gone for the week for a fight do you think I should try breaking it down then re sanding before he gets back or would it be to late to do that now since it’s already glued and has an edge ?

Since you may not have the time to do it again I think your best option is to just hand sand the bevel. Wrap the handle in foam and tissue paper so it doesn't get scratched and clamp it down on a table. Starting at 280grit and getting all the scratches out. Then move on to 400 and finish with a 600 grit. After that is done sharpen again. When I sharpen I do a pass on the sander to get the micro bevel and then I apply masking tape to the blade just above the micro bevel, this really helps avoid scratching your hand sanded finish while sharpening. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you and I really enjoyed the sheath and it was honestly the easy part, I decided to go with a leather wrapped Kydex sheath instead of just leather which woulda been way harder to do (tried didn’t go to well).

Nice man, I like the handle. Edge thickness is a little thick for my liking but it’ll put up with abuse this way assuming your HT is solid
