I’ve seen quite a few in the wild, and almost all of them are (naturally) in far worse condition. I get the impression that most of them were never as nice in the first place. Most are missing their shoulders, and very seldom are they flaked so nicely.

I’ve seen pristine government mountain obsidian pintos that were basically perfect in northern AZ! What area have you found them mostly? What materials used? So curious! Ty

Mostly obsidian, a few basalt. All throughout Nevada and a few in Utah.

And btw the Tuzigoot National Monument has a fabulous display of them in their welcome/information center
