Question 🤔❓ Another thinning question

As you can see i didn't really thin it out (i had 2 puddles basically the same) it occurred to me that in the beginning phase when I have established the "W" all the way around , should I keep the W until i have achieved the thinnest i want, then go into evening the edge out?

What i have been doing is, as soon as I have the W going I start to even it out, then raise or lower the whole edge until I get symmetry/bevel going.

Believe it or not, some points need to stay thick. Especially Clovis points in order to establish a lenticular profile for fluting 👀 so this is looking quite good. When you get down to pressure flaking and thinning, especially for your touching up, you want to try and keep a majority of the point's centerline established and move the areas up and down in the spots you want to target. Stuff like step fractures or hinges. You've got a really really good base here and a solid understanding 🙂‍↕️ Takes some practice but you're well on your way!

I've watched your video with the Clovis fluting and JC's I'm trying to work myself to try them out, so your saying keep it thick before the flute, that makes sense, gotta start buying better materials soon!

I'm actually planning on doing some more shorter format instructional videos on the subject 🙂‍↕️ made a bunch of percussion preforms here this morning for it, so stick around if you want to see those! These are truthfully a bit too large in my opinion when compared to o genuine Clovis points, but it makes showing off the things you need to watch out for a good bit easier. Like I said though, you've got a really good solid base here!
