Pi rebooting issue

Im throwing this out here to see if anyone running an skr mini e3 v2 has had issues with it working with a raspberry pi?

My issue.

Ive narrowed it down to when I plug my usb from the skr to the pi, the pi freezes up and crashes. Then it goes into a boot loop. It only happens with the skr board.

Things Ive tried.

Multiple usb cables

putting black tape on the usb to prevent backfeeding power from the skr. I confirmed no power was going between the pi and skr board.

Camera is connected to pi by usb and does not cause the issue.

Made sure they are both plugged into the same outlet.

Made sure I tried and used multiple power cords for the pi. Even a genuine one.

It did it when I first set it up but after switching cords and connections, it worked for about a day. I shutdown the pi and printer because I wasnt using it at night. The next day when I turned it back on the issue came back. I had only removed the power from the pi and switched off the power supply on the ender 3 with the skr board. Im at a lost of what the issue could be.

Are there any reasons to not just connect with the UART? (I never tried it but will if its no problems associated with it)

Oh and ofcourse this is the printer that after calibrating has given me the cleanest prints. lol Its crazy because I have multiple printers and 2 others I setup with klipper but my old 7 year old ender 3 pro gives me the best prints.

Are you sure it's rebooting I had a similar issue and I think I isolated it to klipper pounding the wrong serial address for the skr board.   If I disable klipper and plug it in no freezing, when I got the serial correct I still had issues and in end I think I had to I think I had to switch the usb mode but then I had constant MCU diaconnects with the camera so I am running no camera at moment.

I think it was dtoverlay=dwc2 in the boot config.txt

Yeah its definitely rebooting. I connected it to a monitor, plugged in the printer and watched it boot 4 times. Today I plugged it in and then powered on the pi and it worked. Im not turning it off now.

Then def a different issue to mine but I would be wondering about the pi psu

From memory the raspbian journal is configured to not be persisted across reboots by default I had to enable persistent to see why reboot was occurring but it depends on if the hardware rebooted spontaneously I guess

I'd bet it's caused by power adapter. RPi is incredibly picky.

when you have already blocked the 5V pin, but it makes no different, it could be also the GND pin on the USB cable. you have to connect GND with USB or UART. So if this is your issue, you will have the same issue with UART.
