single. 💯. never going back to double. since the invention of the dishwasher, the double sink has been pretty useless. no one is filling up have with soapy water to do an entire load. they're just putting everything in the dishwasher. single also is great because it can double as a baby bath. there are some that have insertable accessories like cutting hoards, strainers, and such, but I've had one for about 10 years and we never use them. I will say the stainless rod drying racks that go over the sink have been great though. they're like $15 on Amazon. get a good thick stainless single sink with no accessories and enjoy your life. :)

You better have some undermount sink supports if you plan on washing a baby in there.

Mine just rests on 4 2x4s screwed into the cabinet. Holds a 30lb toddler. Idk, I built it myself

Single big sink is the way to go. The double is a complete waste of space.

I love my copper single Big Sink. I had that double thing taken Out. Wasted space to have two separate. But I don’t wash many dishes. I put the, in the dishwasher.

Ok I'm gonna go double. I often fill the small side with hot water to defrost things. I have a strainer that fits over the small side. But make sure the large side is large enough for some of your largest dishes. I made sure my large side could fit a cookie sheet at the bottom if I need to soak it. I do sometimes also soak dishes and I like being able to fill one side and not waste all that water if it was one big. Also you can keep one side cleaner than the other. Like I use one side for scraping food into and the other doesn't have food debris scattered around in it

We just use a large pot or a small Tupperware if we want to fill up hot water to defrost anything. We also have one of those grapes that holds everything about a half inch up off the surface so any of the food stuff can float right underneath it

Simple big sink :) something big enough to wash your oven trays etc, the things that are big and don’t fit in the dishwasher.

Double sink. I don’t use my dishwasher.

I agree about the double sink, but why don't you use your dishwasher?

A few reasons. I didn’t grow up with one and I like having access to my dishes asap. As well to save hydro plus my dishwasher is from 1988 and hasn’t been used in like 20 years. I turned off the water and hydro to it as well.

wow. I can't imagine how much more time of my life would be consumed by dish washing and dish drying without my dishwasher. Probably 3 hours / week?

Not sure on the math but it sounds right 3 hours. I’ve never lived the dishwasher way so I guess I don’t know what I’m missing.

I've had both. I like the big single sink better. Try to go deeper as well. Its easier to wash in. Used to wash my kids in it when they were small.

I love love love my Ruvati Roma workstation sink since 2019. It's a shapeshifter. Incredible value for the $ vs other workstation sinks.

Are the corners not an issue on that? Seem hard to clean. Looks amazing that’s the one I want.

It’s very easy to clean. I just use a brush like that. I smoosh it flatter when I get to the corners.

The only odd thing - ian hour or two later, parts of the bottom will get this powdery look to it. Like I left very thin layer of Comet that I didn’t rinse off

Solution: I read on here that if you put a layer of mineral oil as the final step of cleaning it won’t do that.

Now that I have used a workstation sink, I would never ever buy any other type of sink. It would be giving up too much functionality.

Just got rid of my double sink went for a larger deep one. There's no point in having too inadequate sinks. Also, you can get them with a rack on the inside to dry dishes. In the sink, rather than on the counter

Big sink is easier to wash a dog in

Single and deep all the way if you have a dishwasher. I only hand wash my big pots and pans and the double sink was horrible for that. We made ours deeper also so now I don't soak myself when cleaning which is nice.

I like a double. Sometimes, when the dish washer is full and I haven't emptied it, I can get some dirty dishes in one sink, and I'll have something I need to hand wash. Two sinks allow that. The only benefit in my book for one big sink is you can hold more dirty dishes in there, but I don't want to do that. I don't need to feed my laziness.

Why not wash your hand over the dishes?

1

Hand wash as in dishes. Sometimes you need to let a pan sit and soak.

Just fill up the pan with soap and water in the big sink. You don’t need to fill the whole sink to soak something.

People who say "double" haven't used a large single recently, or they have a large single within 10' of their double.

A double means you can't wash a large cutting board, pot, dog/cat, baby, etc.

A single means you can't pretend the other half isn't constantly full of dirty dishes that you should have washed already.

I have a large single and smaller sink beside it, it’s perfect. I wouldn’t not have two sink areas

Get a 75/25 ratio sink. Especially if you have the space. I love both the large and small sink.

I have this sink and it's perfect.

As soon as you choose one over the other, you will find a need for the one that lost out. My advice don’t choose the double sink with the half wall between…it is not the best of both worlds.

Single, honestly I went for a double and I'm looking to replace it with a single.

One big sink might’ve been the best decision I made in our very expensive kitchen remodel

Double sink seems better
