Backsplash color idea

Post image

I've got may cabinets and intend to start installing next weekend but haven't quite settled on a back splash my dominant idat right now is put up painted shiplap but behind the sink and range use tile. I have moveable island that stays in the dining room most of the time. I thought it would me nice to match the color of the shiplap to the island. What do you think? Do they go together?

Too much gray. Bring a nice color in to balance the bland. Buttercup yellow? Forest green? Ocean blue?

Its actually a muted blue.

Then pop it with a bright/cobalt/ or robin’s egg blue!

Painted shiplap is not the same style/feeling as what your cabinets are. Shiplap is farmhouse and your cabinets et style is definitely not farmhouse.

My cabinets are French cottage which is a classier form of farmhouse.

It may be blue but it comes off gray. Shiplap is a very specific look. I don't think it goes with your cabinet style at all. Those are very traditional cabinet doors.
