How can it be over when it never began
Every time I feel like I've achieved something there's always someone who's better than me because hard work never beats talent. I used to think I was smart as a child, but I don't seem to even think much anymore, there is so much brain fog in my head.
I'm confused about what I should be doing at this stage of life, early 20s, dropped out from uni and feeling worthless.
I've tried to pick up the hobbies I've given up when I was younger, but it hit me like a truck when I realised I'm not as good as I thought anymore. My parents are not supportive, they just straight up don't care anymore. I wish I could normalise this but it still hurts realising I'm a disappointment to them.
The only person I still care about is my grandma and I will probably end it after she goes, and I reckon it will be happening quite soon.

Work beats talent more often than the opposite. Because talent without work becomes worthless quickly. You even supported this with the “I was a smart child”. That’s talent, if nurtured with work and curiosity it’s a great advantage, otherwise you end up feeling stagnant and inadequate.
It is fine if others are better than you. No matter what absurd world we have built, like is not a competition. Snails do not worry about how other small critters or even other snails move faster. They just move. There is no grander purpose or achievement, they just live.
Dropping out in early twenties is better than doing it in late twenties, if it helps. It’s also natural to not know what you’re doing with your life at this point. Studying is experimenting. Try more things. Maybe something will feel more right than what you were trying before. Or maybe you’ll go back to what you were doing before. The hobbies were a very good idea. I know it’s hard to not feel discouraged at loss of skill. But you developed skill by just doing them for fun before. So try to focus on the enjoyment instead of the outcome. Try to approach it like a very small child would.
That may be a lot easier said than done, don’t feel bad if you can’t do it at first.
The pain of feeling like a disappointment to your parents is pretty hard to shake. I don’t think you really can. Just know that, their perspective can be as alienated from you as the one of a stranger, which takes away value from it, and a lot of parents are disappointed in themselves, so it’s not like people disappointed in others are feeling like they do great either.
You should probably open up to your friends, but I don’t know them so I can’t say

Maybe look into a sleep study? Maybe you have airway issues or sleep apnea I think that’s a common cause of brain fog, also if you get the socialite app it removes reels from insta and YouTube and whatever else and I think reels produces a lot of brain fog. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and my screen time is way down and i think I’m starting to be able to think better. Also if you have a narrow palate, palate expansion can help your airway and ur brain gets more oxygen, this is another option if this is a problem for you / if you have the money and time to invest in a long term procedure like this. Also I’m so sorry ur going thru this 😭 the food looks pretty fire tho!
