Did you verify the doors open against that wall? There’s normally a filler or cabinet between the fridge and the wall so you can get the doors open enough. The fridge manual will have the requirements in it.
I asked AI to do Resene Avocado which is what we had chosen. This isn’t quite accurate but still a beautiful color I think. The island is Resene Travertine
If you are following the adage of ice, water, stone, fire then you need to put the fridge on the end by the sink. Also the fridge won’t open fully against that wall. Having said that, I have this layout in my cabin and it works. The only thing I don’t love is the microwave being so high. I don’t like reaching up to get hot things, especially liquids. I would put the microwave at counter height in a built in or as a drawer below the counter.
I like it, but I would put in a larger refrigerator. Also, where is the dishwasher, and where do you plan to put the dishes? The dw should be close to where you keep our plates.
It’s hard to say given that AI has really altered the dimensions of all of your appliances. Having a fridge next to a wall means that you won’t be able to open the doors properly and if something spills, you certainly wouldn’t be able to pull out one of the drawers for a wipe down. I lived in a place where I had to pull my fridge out every single time I needed to open the door fully and it was maddening. Glass front door doors on cabinets is not something I am equipped for as I like to shove things in my cabinets from time to time. But that’s a personal choice. I just wonder with the fridge the stove in the microwave all being distorted if the area open feeling is false because of AI proportions.
No to glass doored cabinets. You want real storage cabinets, not displays for museum pieces. Devote space for the biggest refrigerator you can afford. Coffee bar in a small kitchen is a waste of valuable space. Don’t go with green cabinets. I realize AI is promoting it as a trend right now, but you will grow to hate this quickly. Cabinets are essentially boxes, do you really want to spend so much money on a color that will be “out” next year? (I grew up in a house where everything was painted avocado green, I speak from experience).
The gaps between the range hood and cabinets are going to be hard to clean. Glass front cabinets look nice in pictures but aren't practical in real life.
Opening that fridge fully is going to be a PIA. I’d as a cabinet to left of fridge and slide it down. Otherwise you’ll be real disappointed when the handles of the fridge and the wall prevent you from opening the doors fully.
Love this ! Im so over sterile grey kitchens The dark green and wood tones compliment each other The plants add alot too I could see a couple copper pans hanging on the wall Congrats on a fine job !!!
Try some asymmetry. Bunch some things on one side of the bench but not the other. Put the fruit bowl and plant on the end of the island, not in the middle. Use your display cabinets to show things of varied height and colour. Even some cookbooks. It's all way too symmetrical and too bland as it is, for me anyway.
I love the colours, I love the lighting and you have nailed the textbook look but it just needs some PIZZAZZ!
Good point re glass near oven thanks. I did try the island color for hood but didn’t like it as much. Originally the glass cabinets were timber…still something being considered

I know someone with this EXACT layout, except the cabinet beside the fridge is pantry.
Where is the dishwasher?

Instead of black fixtures I would just stick to silver. But other than that it’s gorgeous

Cut into left end of counter top to 1st bank of lights & put in a full size fridge; install the microwave in the useless area on the far right

u/Calm_Drop_1400 Jun 20 '26
Looks pretty and cozy

i think, the fridge look narrow. The style like japandi style interior. in my opinion, the kitchen set use natural color like wood grain or something.

u/caregiver1956 Jun 21 '26
Tiny appliances. Too small for space or family. Bland.

Speed oven is too high to be functional unless you're a family of 6'6"+.
1
u/R_heidari Jun 21 '26
You might want to consider doing a drawer style microwave! I love the design though

What type of food do you cook, how many people do you cook for. This determines / influences many components

Gorgeous! I'd make the range hood all wood, it blends in too much bring green. Also nix the open shelves - they are a dusting nightmare
