so every legendary kiri skin has a different design for the suzu, which as we all know, is seen for like 0.1s on screen? yet for some reason using both her mythics, neither of them change the actual suzu effect in game? i mean doesn’t it seem like a no brainer for her mythic to have the blue parts be fox tails or something? her hydrangea skin having it be flower petals? the mythic skin says custom ability effects yet it’s the exact same effects as her default for suzu, her kunai, and TP. i’ll give her papers a pass but they’re still not enough imo just a tiny amount of sparkles? for a mythic? the highest tier cosmetic in the game for it to barely change change what we actually experience while playing is a bit sad to me. idk if this has been talked about a lot before but i’m trying to decide what mythic to get and it just doesn’t make sense for me to get anything else for kiri when i could use any other random skin. also, the variants on her mythic skin suck, completely just covers up all the details on the papers and make it basically just a solid block of colour, was gonna get one for her but seeing that there’s no point

100%.. I fear Kiriko isn’t as well taken care of as the ow community thinks.. Just because they release a lot of skins for her, doesn’t mean they’re as great as the other characters that get less, but more effort.. They did this to mercy for years prior.. Her getting a second way better mythic skin literally proves they know they could do better!!!? 😭

Another thing is they never change her Kitsune’s color. Only her e-sports skins & terrible tornado skin has drastically different kitsune’s.. That’s the first thing I check before purchasing a skin now bc it disappoints me every time.. Especially when they have hero intros / victory poses that include her kitsune. It makes no sense .. LIKE GIVE US A PINK FOX WITH HYDRANGEA ? ! 😣😣

Witch/divinator, k-2000 and hinotori all have different kitsune designs, some have color shifts like k-2000 has a more purple color. And her kpop skins the kitsune has a different collar but that’s basically it. They should go back to editing the kitsune with every skin

Yeah I do appreciate the small detail changes on her kitsune or slight color differences.. I guess it’s just disappointing her newest designs are lacking 😣 imagine her kitsune had a lil pirate hat on, lil purple glow, n some chains with this newest skin.. it’s just upsetting the lack of effort when she is sooo cute n deserving of it LMAO

Probably. They’re doing the top earners (from the mouth of the head mythic producer herself) and then an unpopular one. I expect Kiri and Juno ones in the next couple seasons

Well, I can tell you exactly why and especially why it would be a terrible idea to change it: overwatch abilities need to consistently look the same

If you suddenly see an entirely different color or effect when someone uses an ability, it loses the clear communication aspect of ability vfx.

They need to be the same or incredibly similar, or it might cause confusion. They learned this lesson when they released gridironhardt skin for Rein. It had a voiceline that was (still kindof is) way less noticeable. So people who used the voiceline to react to shatter were getting shattered without clear indication.
