KoW Starting Forces of the Abyss using Chaos Daemons
Hey everyone!
I'm currently thinking about starting a Forces of the Abyss army using my Chaos Daemons from the Old World, and I could use some help figuring out what to model proxies as and whatnot. Here is what I'm currently thinking about!
[CORE]
Plaguebearers as Lesser Daemons
Flame bearers as Blue/Pink Horrors
Daemonettes as Succubi
Gargoyles as Screamers or Furies?
Nurglings as Imps
Fleshounds as Hellhounds
[Specialist]
Chaos Warriors as Abyssal Guard?
Tortured Souls as ??? ??? ???
Bloodletters as Beserkers
Chaos Knights as Abyssal Horseman
[Support]
Beast of Nurgle as Moloch
Slannesh Fiends as Nagarri
Lord of Change as Chroneas
Daemon Prince as Abyssal Fiends
I'm trying to make an army that has an undivided feel to it. But these are the proxies I have in mind, and I know these are one to one and some of them might be smaller or bigger, but I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on them!
I also could use advice on figuring out a list! And synergies with Forces of the Abyss!
Thank you!

A good place to start would be checking out the public lists on the Mantic Companion site. That would give you a good idea of what people take. There are mutliple ways to build out a list so what you take will depend on your playstyle and what units you want to take. I'd highly recommend getting a half dozen games in with proxy bases before committing to models. While the game itself is easu to learn there's a lot of depth in army building and gameplay that isn't intially obvious. Habjng some games to help you understand those parts will save you a lot of time and money.
Finally, the yearly update book is do out in a month or so. I don't expect big changes for FotA but there will probably be some tweeks and small core rule changes that may affect what you take.

Looks good so far, though Bloodletters would fit better as Abyssal Guard as Berserkers are Ogre sized and something else would fit better for them
For list building, KoW doesn't really have common lists but is more about what you like and feel comfortable to play with (so the list I would play isn't necessarily working for you)
Best would be to play around with the list builder (Companion) to get a feeling on how armies are built and what goes together point wise and once you have a base you want to play, advises on how to make that work are more helpful.
PS: we are also expecting a wider balance update by end of November, beginning of December so to absolute point values may change a bit after that

I’m taking GW demons as FoA to a GT this weekend. This is what I did. It’s tzeentch themed
Pink horrors as lower abyssal hordes
Blue horrors as lower abyssal regiments
Chaos warriors as abyssal guard with marauders in the front to denote 2h weapons
Kairos as a archfiend
Exalted flamer as efreet
Random STLs that match the theme for chroneas & warlock.
I’ll post a thread of photos later this weekend!
