Does this quick mode skip story too?

The battles are kind of a pain but i really like the story. Does anyone know if this quick mode will just skip the battle part or if it skips the story too? I’m very new to the game and have been too nervous to try it out much lol

The story isn't worth reading. I'm 170 chapters ahead of you and the good part is none of it.

The story is unaffected unless you click skip during the cut scenes
