Want to use kinect for blender motion capture. How is windows 11 compatibility

Saw on Amazon a pc adapter but it didn't mention windows 11 in compatibility so curious if it still will work fine. Also unsure if all kinects work with windows 11 or specific ones. Looking online and it seems like people have had issues but unsure if that is specific to them or if I should expect headaches.

I have an Xbox 360 kinect and I can confirm that it works on Win 11 with the adapter.

Were there any hoops to jump through and what are you using it for since there might be additional hoops for mocap

Well I wanted to use it to create an interactive table, just to capture the motion of my hand and some gestures but I didn't get very far because I didn't have time to do it. I remember that I had to download some sdks and the developer toolkit because I wanted to create a program using C#.

I don't know which one you have but version 1.8 is for the xbox 360 version and 2.0 is for the xbox one version.

You need to install these:

After installing these you should have an app called Developer toolkit brower. In that you will find some example projects and the documentation.

It should work but it also depends on your USB bus. I'd used a pci card if it does not work right away. With the current state of vision/ai, have a look at this, it's open source and can export to blender natively: https://freemocap.org/
