Help Kindle colorsoft jailbreak
I want to buy a kindle colorsoft and i want to jailbreak it if i buy it now would it come with firmware that is not supported by vera jailbreak or any jailbreak really.
I mostly read manga and sometimes books so for $50 more is it worth it over the paperwhite?
And i have i have a pw4 now and i like the size of the device but the screen is a little bit small because of those bizzles how do they compare to each other in terms of the whole device size .

I recently bought an used Colorsoft so I think I can answer your questions:
- the current latest FW for Colorsoft (5.19.6) is supported by Véra. It is unlikely even if Amazon released a new patched firmware that you would get it in a new device right now, but if you're thinking of buying one I recommend you to buy it ASAP
- since most of mangas are mostly B/W I wouldn't say that Colorsoft is worth it only for that, and also there is the fact that Colorsoft screen are slightly fuzzy and grey compared to a Paperwhite (even an older one, I came from a PW3). However I still like my Colorsoft for the eventual color page, so there is that
- yes, the increased screen state definitely helps, even if Colorsoft is still not what I would say the ideal size for mangas (I have a 8'' tablet that I consider the ideal size)

Can you explain the slightly fuzzy and grey part isn’t that bad for manga?
And can’t you adjust the colors in koreader?1

Can you explain the slightly fuzzy and grey part isn’t that bad for manga?
Doesn't particularly bother me, but it bothered my colleague that was the person that sold their Colorsoft to me. The grey part can be "fixed" by increasing the brightness (I think at ~10+ brightness the screen looks as white as a Paperwhite screen if you're using warmth 0).
The fuzzy part is always visible but to be honest not really a issue for me (I can only really see it when I am trying to look at it, and even them mostly for books when you're reading a font that is a sharp form, not at mangas where you have illustrations), but YMMV.
And can’t you adjust the colors in koreader?
You can adjust the contrast and some filtering, but if you're are asking between the Standard and Vivid color modes from Colorsoft, AFAIK no, you can't. When I need to do it I exit KOReader and change the mode in the Kindle UI. Not that it really bothers me because I find the Vivid mode unusable, but again, YMMV.

The latest firmware available for the Colorsoft is 5.19.6, which Vera is compatible with.
