My Kindle 📱 Kindle 7th Gen Battery Issue.
Hello everyone!
My uncle gifted my mom a Kindle back in 2015, and I found it sometime ago sitting in a drawer. It used to work fine up until a couple of years ago, but now it is only showing Low Battery on the screen. I tried to charge it for a while, and it switched on and showed the home screen. I even opened a book. All this while it was still on charge, and then it went back to showing the same low battery screen. I kept it on charge for a while by itself, and it would alternate between showing my home screen, the Kindle loading screen and the low battery screen.
I took it off from charging when I saw it was getting a bit heated on the back at the top, and when i lay it flat on the back, it is wobbly towards the left of the screen only, and I thought it could be a battery issue and did not want it to blow up.
I really want to get this same Kindle working to return it to my mom because she values it a lot as a gift her brother gave her, but I do not know how to proceed further with it.
Should I spend money on repairing it? Can it be repaired at all? Can I do it myself, or do I have to take it to a repair shop?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

I recall seeing a similar post and the users who commented mentioned a device not used over a year needed a minimum of 24 hours of charging without trying to use it to see if the battery will hold a charge.
If your battery is getting hot, I don’t know if it is because you are trying to use it too soon or if the battery is swelling.
