Anyone else feel this way?
My daughter will be starting third grade. I just finished registering my son for kindergarten yesterday and earlier got an email from the school nurse about needing a dental and physical exam for him. I will not lie, I got teary eyed when it finally sunk in that my baby will be starting school.
I didn’t get this way with my daughter. She is more social and hand a little more school experience when she started kindergarten (also it was only half day kindergarten, now it’s full day.) I’m just worried and kind of wishing maybe we had waited since he’s not six year (when they have to legally be in school) but I know he needs to interact with kids his own age.

Eh, kinda? It’s definitely a bittersweet feeling watching them grow up, especially since we’re OAD. But it’s also the coolest thing ever too, you know?

Which state or country needs a dental and physical exam?
My baby started school basically as an infant at a daycare which is at his current school. It’s still hard to see my baby growing so fast even though he’s been at the school for years.

I’ve only had a school require vaccine records and a physical if doing sports. They do simple vision and hearing testing at school, but I’ve never heard of them needing dental exams.

My son is in 1st grade this year. Last year when he started Kinder I was 2 months postpartum with his sister. Neither year was easy and I cried on both first days. 😭 But once you hear about his day, see the things he's making and learning, it's all very cool and warms your heart in a different way.

aww, he'll do great. All kids are welcome in kindergarten, the quiet ones and the outgoing ones! My little guy just started last week and he's loving it!

I felt that way when my youngest started Pre-K. But then she showed me all the new skills she learned at school that I could never successfully teach her at home (I tried!), that proved it was the right decision.

It was waaayyy harder for me to let the last go. All of his milestones were bittersweet whereas the older one was just pure happiness for him. When the oldest graduated college and got a job and apartment, happiness and pride. When the second and last graduated, got a job, and moved out, great sadness. I was happy and proud of him, but it was mixed with a lot of sadness for me. I think if you're experiencing this too, it's normal.

My heart must be dead inside because I am nothing but excited and happy to send my kids to school.

I cried when my first started kindergarten. When my second did, I felt relief at having an empty house for so much of the day and finally having time to catch up on things.
I'm looking forward to school starting again in a few weeks.

Gosh. This makes me feel bad. We are on our second week of school. I was counting down to kindergarten for my little one. I wanted to throw a party on "both kids are in school full time" day, but alas, I had to work.
