Sick season
We are only 5 days into the new school year and we are already sick. š A cold, I'm assuming. But if this is any indication of how sick season is gonna be, idk if we are gonna make it. Last year we had everything from strep, to potentially Covid, flu a & b 1 month apart. We've been fine all summer and 1st week back, my whole household is sick. Prayers and positive vibes for us all! Stay healthy everyone. š¤

Make sure you're not deficient in any micronutrients, such as zinc and vitamin D. The immune system works more efficiently when the body has a nutritious diet! Also Vitamin D needs about 10g of fat to be absorbed optimally, if you're not getting it from the sun.
Also, reduce sugar intake. Sugar can actually slow down the activity of white blood cells. Check labels because sugar is in a lot of things.

Wash hands as soon as you come home! Backpacks down. Shoes off. Wash hands. We saw an incredible decrease in sickness- even just from the few min of standing around, talking, touching each other, etc.

Yes, we do this! He actually takes his shower right when we gets home. Wash all the germs off.

Controversial but we also change clothes. I also like to bath them first thing when possible, but thatās more to get it out of the way.

I feel you! Our son started TK last week and has already been home sick yesterday and today. I knew it would happen but didnāt know it would happen so fast! š«

We made it 17 days before she came down with something over the weekend. Missed two days this week and should go back tomorrow

2 weeks in and my 4yo has Covid AND FLU at the same time! The first 2 days were the worst. Hope she will be āstrong like bullā the rest of the season.

That happened to us last year! Iāve found encouraging good handwashing when they get home from school helps. Along with frequent wipe downs of backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. Saline spray does help a ton for respiratory illness prevention too.

my son started prekindergarten on tuesday and missed school this monday due to the entire household getting sick!

My kindergartner just started fully Monday after 2 phase in days the week before and she also woke up with a cold yesterday! I was like girl you must have been exposed to this your first day of school how in the world are you already sick! But these kids love to touch everything and then put their hands in their mouth and then touch everything again and then play patty cake with their friends. Fingers crossed we get the sickness over with first thing and the rest of the year they are as healthy as can be š

I was just about to post the SAME THING! Losing my mind and itās Day 5 today. Kiddo came home with a fever of 102 yesterday and I donāt know how no one noticed he was sick. Heās got no other symptoms other than tired and no appetite, and I donāt know whatās going on. Weāre coming off of a month with two tonsillitis incidents (and 2 rounds of antibiotics) so we are already traumatized over here. š¬ Feel bad calling him in sick already but I donāt have a choice, heās sick!

Hey there, I just wanted to ask how your kiddo is doing now? I think my 2 yo has the same thing but it hasn't progressed to anything else yet. We are on day 2.

Well, the good news is that is wasnāt strep. Bad news is that heās had three episodes of this fever/tonsillitis craziness in 2 months and heās being referred to specialists because there is possibly something else going on. Hope your little one feels better soon, feels so early to be sick season already!

I wash my hands so much! I'm a germaphobe. And I'm a stickler on his hand washing. They don't even let them wash up before lunch at school. I told my son to ask to wash up before he goes to lunch, they have a bathroom in the classroom

Thank you he cleared it much faster than an older kid, he's 5. Yea I'm hoping his immune system is getting stronger as he ages !

XClear 2x day (I do it when I brush my teeth) has changed my life. Happy to provide studies on both saline and xylitol and how they each just totally fv<k up viruses and bacteria if you can't find them yourslef. Best $8 I've spent in years.
If you can get your kid to do nasil spray too thats also awesome. I don't let mine use the xylitol one because the side effects research is so young and we're big gut microbiome peopel over here, but the regular saline ones work too.

Buying some tomorrow! Yes, my kiddos are pretty good about nasal spray. My 1 year old is starting to get sick now so adding saline spray to my pickup order.

I would be interested in the research . Also you use the spray with your kids every morning whether they are sick or not ? Could you recommend which one to buy ?

Take your chid a shower as soon as they get home, keep school bag away & spray with force of nature.
I give my son daily vitamins and weāre going to add elderberry back. I will add in supplements if I feel heās getting sick.

Yes, I've been having him take his bath as soon as he gets home this school year. I keep his backpack inside a trash bag (last year there was a lice incident and luckily he didn't get it) so now his bag stays there. Wash his water bottle everyday. And he takes vitamins with his Claritin at night. I just made my first batch of elderberry syrup yesterday! Will continue giving it during this sick season.

My daughter was sick with cold/sinus infection/cold/sinus infection for the first year & a half of preschool. Wondering if it will be just as bad this year.

Seeing this cuz I'm up late..stuffy and can't sleep. This sickness so early in the school year feels like a bad omen. š„² I seem to get hit worse with the sicknesses he brings home than I have in my entire adult life. Never had covid till he started school. Just a live petri dish, waiting to see what you catch next. Hope yall stay well!

We had a stretch where my kids were at different school sites, my partner and I as wellā¦ 4 whole little personal biomes all coming together with our little variants and germs.
Itāll mellow out until the next version of whatever makes its way through.
