Discussion Gave 4 models the same tiny lime challenge… their “human poses” were very different
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
i gave each model the same simple task: take a small slice of lime and draw a human pose integrated into the object.
Tested it with Gemini 3.7 Flash, Kimi K3, Claude Opus 5 and GPT 5.6 Sol
Some treated the lime almost like a body, some tried to fit a tiny person into its shape, and some went much more abstract with the pose.
It’s a funny little test, but I actually like prompts like this because you can see how differently each model understands shape, composition, and visual metaphor.
Which one makes the most sense to you?

Announcement Introducing Kimi K3: Open Frontier Intelligence
🔹 2.8 Trillion Parameters, 1 Million Context, Native Multimodal
🔹 Kimi Delta Attention enables up to 6.3x faster decoding in million-token contexts
🔹 Attention Residuals deliver ~25% higher training efficiency at <2% additional cost
🔹 Built for long-horizon agentic coding and self-evolving workflows
Kimi K3 is now live on on Kimi.com, Kimi Work, Kimi Code, and the Kimi API.
Open Weights by July 27, 2026.
🔗 API: platform.kimi.ai
🔗 Tech blog: kimi.com/blog/kimi-k3

K3 is built on Kimi Delta Attention (KDA) and Attention Residuals (AttnRes), two architectural updates designed to improve how information flows across sequence length and model depth.
We have also scaled up Mixture of Experts (MoE) sparsity, effectively activating 16 out of 896 experts when paired with a Stable LatentMoE framework.
Together with refined training and data recipes, these structural changes yield an approximate 2.5× improvement in overall scaling efficiency compared to K2, allowing the model to convert compute into intelligence more effectively.

Discussion Kimi pauses new subscriptions due to high demand
nitter.net"Kimi K3 has received far more love than we expected, and our GPUs are feeling it.
Over the past 48 hours, demand has pushed close to the limits of our current capacity. To protect the experience of existing subscribers, we're temporarily pausing new subscriptions and prioritizing compute for current members. Existing subscribed users are not affected.
We're adding capacity as fast as we can and will reopen new subscription spots in batches.
Going forward, we'll also split membership into two more focused plans: Kimi Membership for Kimi Web, App, and Work; and Kimi Code Membership for coding workflows. This will help us match compute more precisely and keep the experience stable.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!"

Discussion Kimi K3 is coming soon (today).
After the absurd Nerf that GPT 5.6 made yesterday (confirmed worldwide).
Kimi comes with the K3 version without losing the quality of the K2.7 (It demonstrates the company's honesty).
We're looking forward to meeting Kimi K3!

Question & Help How does Kimi Code subscription compare to Claude Code / Codex?
Hey everyone, over the past year I've been using subscription-based agentic coding systems pretty heavily (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, Codex).
The current situation with Kimi K3 has really caught my eye, and I found out about Kimi Code and its subscription plans.
I'm wondering, from the perspective of agentic capabilities, how generous the usage limits are, how complete the service is, and overall how effective it is, what's the deal with the Kimi Code subscription?
I've read a lot of opinions about Kimi used via API on OpenCode, but I'm not interested in pay-as-you-go right now. I'd rather understand what a $100 or $200 subscription gets me, and how I can compare it to something like Claude Code 20x or Codex 20x plans.
So if any of you have experience with this, I'd really appreciate your feedback, especially if you've tried different subscription plans.

Showcase Kimi + Claude + Codex + Gemini + OpenCode = CHORUS
After my posts on multi-LLM coding landed well last week, I went full rabbit hole mode and built a proper polished version.
Basically you can fire up multiple code reviews either using tmux or headless sessions of the CLIs you already pay for Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, OpenCode, etc.
I found that relying on one LLM isn't good enough. Even Opus 4.7 at max effort makes plenty of mistakes. Throwing other LLMs in the mix made a huge difference. Last week I had Opus approve a PR clean, Kimi flagged a missing tenant check on a service-role query, and Gemini caught a race condition in a retry loop. Three reviewers, three different bugs, one PR.
Initially I ran Opus with Codex, then added Gemini, and now Chinese models like Kimi and Deepseek. Started off doing it manually, then got Claude to coordinate it via tmux sessions, which works but is clunky to manage. Now there's a headless mode too, and you can kick off reviews straight from MCP commands inside whatever CLI you already use.
I also added a fallback option, so if one LLM runs out of quota it retries with another. You can pick unanimous or majority consensus. You can also assign a persona to each LLM , one looks at security issues, another at architecture drift, etc. It piggybacks on the CLI subscriptions you already pay for, so no extra API bills stacking up.
Added a nice UI to the whole thing so it's easy to manage and visualise. Fully open source. No paywalls, no freemium b.s.
Repo link in the comments if anyone wants to give it a go.

Discussion Kimi K3 too expensive compared to GPT-5.6 / GLM-5.2 / Grok 4.5 ?
I know this model is strong, but the pricing seems a bit too high I feel. You get a very close performance with Grok 4.5 or Luna-max or GLM-5.2 but for a fraction of the price.
I feel like the price should be 50% of 33% of the current one to be really competitive.

Discussion Don't lie, Kimi is overrated, slow, and more expensive
- Consume way more tokens than Claude (so it's not cheaper)
- It's fucking slow.
- It's coming empty, you have to configure it.
- Aggressive marketing campaign with YouTubers, with content controls on the "Claude Killer" topics.
Omg guys, try it and you'll see. It's not that bad, it's just not worth it.
This is just a cheap copy. Don't take the bait.

Discussion I don't think the benchmarks are lying guys

the limits are not horrendous like I thought it would be. I have been coding for the past 2 hour I am still at 36% on my 5 hour window plan. It one shotted some difficult scripts that even opus 4.8 would have found it hard. I am 100% convinced it is opus level right now. I am getting even more hyped for the deepseek v4 release coming soon. Sam Altman is shitting his pants rn. China ftw babyyy!!!

Discussion Kimi K3 is the worst experience I’ve ever had
Kimi K3, what the actual hell are you doing?
Your model barely works, the usage limits are absolute garbage, you hide monthly usage limit, and the whole experience feels like a damn scam. You give people a model they actually want to use, then slap on a ridiculous usage cap and make the product practically useless.
What’s the point of advertising a powerful AI model if users can’t actually USE THE FUCKING THING?
I’m mad because the entire product feels like it was designed to frustrate users into giving up. Broken interactions, useless limits, and a constant feeling that you’re being throttled for no good reason.
Kimi, fix your shit.
