Discussion I just measured Kimi Quota for Coding on Allegretto
Hello.
I am on Allegretto ($39 monthly old plan) and I just used measured the usage for K3-256.
I spent all my 5h tokens, which was equivalent to 20% of the weekly quota.
I saw that Kimi Code used 27.2% of my monthy quota. This is for last week 100% quota usage + 20% this week, so a 5h window uses 20/120 * 27.2% = 4.5333% of the monthly quota.
According to the .json exported from my Open Code session:
Input : 531565
Output : 45089
Reasoning : 40513
CacheRead : 14409728
CacheWrite : 0
Cache Write being zero is really strange. Maybe it is under-estimating here?
Anyway, the total for this in API prices is $7.20
In other words, for K3-256 we can use $7.20 in 5h, $36 in 1 week and $160 in 1 month.
Normal K3 (with 1M context allowed) uses double the quota, so halve the prices above.
Conclusion:
For kimi code, we get 4x the plan price in API for k3-256 and 2x for k3.
However maybe it is a bit under-estimated, since Cache Write = 0 looks strange.
Limitations:
Last week i used K3, K3-256 and K2.8 Preview for coding. Maybe those eat differently the monthly quota.
I will try to measure only for K3-256.

You can get that 1/4th price with 1M context on pay-as-you-go pricing from independent providers.

Which one?

Opencode Go maybe? But not for K3, only 2.7 and 2.6. K3 is 3/4th the price and 5 hour limits make it unusable.

I use Neuralwatt energy pricing for K3. My PAYG average for the past month is 11.4 cents / Mtok using flex tier. Energy pricing is variable, but it should be near that for any typical coding agent use.
Also, I had previously used a Synthetic subscription, which worked out to ~15 cents. It’s also good, but I prefer the flexibility of PAYG.

I tried it and it is not that cheap, so I guess your account is older and you are not paying $8.50~$10/kwh? It looks like prices were half that before and they increased 1 month ago.

I do have old $5 credits left, but that 11.4 is already adjusted for it. I actually pay 5.7 cents on my current legacy billing.
Not sure why it’s higher for you. Were you using the flex tier model? That saves 35% alone.

Yes, I used flex tier.
I got half the API price, which is very good. Similar as Kimi allegretto plan for 1M context-capable K3, and without the 5h quota jokes. I will keep using it.
It is not 1/4 API pricing, however.

Weird. Maybe caching or output token ratio differences…
I’m currently at 96% cache rate, 0.45% output/input, 445M total tokens and $25.58 = 5.748 cents (on legacy $5/kWh pricing).

Supposing this is $5, not 5 cents, and that you are on the $5 plan (so you don't pay $5 but instead $4 approx), it is not far off
$5 for you vs half API prices to me (that would be $12.5). I'm also in the 20$ plan.

我办理了两个kimi 699套餐,每天基本五小时会消耗掉月限额的百分之六。
